AD Discount (wondering how I did)

Army and Air Force Exchange Service. Formerly called, and still more commonly referred to on-post as, "the PX", but with AAFES you can make on-line purchases. The Navy and Marine Corps have a different new system for what was formerly their "BX" but I'm not sure if that's now also part of AAFES for on-line purchases. They typically have pretty good discounts, and it's free of sales tax, but the really good deals disappear fast and you only ever seem to hear about them after they're long-gone.

What is AAFES? Is this a military discount?
Army Air Force Exchange Service. The Post Exchange or Base Exchange. Like Target on a military base.

Managed 15% on my new seamaster this weekend. 12% is what they wanted to give. I walked away, went for lunch and came back with the new offer which was accepted. Very happy with the new purchase.

Which model is that?
Can't see the red Seamaster logo or red tip on the seconds hand?
Is it just the photo?

That's a pro move.

I tried this tactic too (at the first AD I went to) and it didn’t work. 😀 It’s a good move, though—worked for me in the past at car dealerships.

It looks so sharp in black. They had that in the case (on rubber) as well as the white one on stainless that I originally thought I wanted. The blue pulled me in, but I think all the configurations are terrific. If I could have nabbed the Tokyo one, I probably would have.

I've found that, especially with Omega ADs, the discount really varies from store to store. Certainly, having a good relationship with them and a history of purchases in the past really helps in getting a bigger discount but 10-20% seems pretty typical. My last new Omega purchase was a Speedy FOIS in 2019 and I think I ended up getting off 20% from an out of state AD I previously purchased from.

It's just the photo. The red seamaster and seconds hand really stands out in person, however not so much in photographs. In fact the whole watch appears darker.
