·yes these are similar period- maybe a bit earlier- they are often AM but this one looks ok despite blurry pictures- Omega symbol is crisp, text on back looks ok with some separation of ACIER INOX and AM maker stamp looks ok through the haze. Also fat old springbar is helpful sign of original.

Thats a relief to hear. I read through this entire thread and pulled the trigger on this buckle that I found on a Japanese auction. Just wasn't 100% sure if it was period correct for a 1968 Seamaster . I guess I dont mind if its for slightly earlier.. I think its the coolest looking buckle of all the vintage variations. Thanks again for the info! Much appreciated.

U.S. made buckles had an Omega stamp like that, but they generally have different shapes.
If the price is good and the seller will allow a jeweler to test it for gold content, then it would look cosmetically correct.

·Thank you so much for the extensive research and the time and effort you’ve put into this- you can see from the replies it’s very much appreciated. Weirdly, I hopped on the forum last night to ask about buckles as I’d love an original for my Cosmic, but not being confident in identifying one has put me off. This helps- enormously.
