I will admit to reading every post here. I stopped after about 150 I think. I just bought a near NOS 1952 Seamaster and it came on an unbranded lizard strap with an Omega signed buckle. It's not stamped like every example I've seen here, but the marking looks like an updated version of the sun logo. I doubt it's original because of that and the casting/shape of the logo is third rate at best. Just wondered if anyone has seen this and if maybe it's a later authentic production? I have a better 16mm gold example to use of a strap I found online that reminded me of one of the Omega branded straps shown in on of Omegastar's posts. Bravo to Omegastar btw!

+1 on above post. That box stitch pattern is period-correct

Good vintage strap seller on ebay TimesofPlenty Vintage Watch Bands- you can find the older style buckles- not all were signed Omega, and also can order nice vintage style strap from Torre in IG- he does wonderful work see example below-

Hi Guys!

I am looking for a 16 mm buckle for one of my straps, and found this one.

What is the verdict?
😀

And as always, thanks in advance!

Hi Guys, I got an Omega Seamaster Deville (136.020 gold plated 1964) from a relative and the strap/buckle is not genuine. I wish to buy a genuine one.
I found this one on Ebay and I think that this is the right model for my 136.020.
Is this a genuine?

I'm curious about you opinion.

Kind regards,
JD

yes, and he says it's genuine, but of course there is a lot of fake one on the internet. So i would like to hear your opinion.

It could be original, but definitely replated if so. Which is not uncommon, and ok in my book

I was in contact with the seller of a similar item (pictures look like the same - maybe its the same seller) around a year ago - at the end he admitted it is a replica.
That's why I still think it is not genuine.

Hey all,

today I got 6 buckles which according to the seller came from the estate of a watchmaker.

2 are from MG and 4 from AW. Look good to me! What do you think?

I find it interesting that the Omega logo on each buckle has a different shape.

Best, Andreas

As some look like they have smaller inner diameter than the others - in particular the 2 or 3 in the middle.
But maybe it's just a glitch in the picture or in my vision 😉

Mhm...you're right, it really looks like that in the photo. I'll measure tomorrow, actually all should have 16mm.
