If it fits it will be pretty tight. You said you had a 8" wrist and there is a gap before the tang holes start. It really varies by manufacturer, but in modern straps: Short 6", Regular 8", Long 8.5" X-Long 9". Strap length, plus watch width, and at least 1.5+ inches to play with. I received the Omega 11/16 R strap in my post above and is it 7.5" and 6.5" to the first hole. Another one I bought is a little shorter. I may get one or two holes on a seven inch wrist. I have lost some weight, but don't want to have to change straps if I gain it back. I searched vintage 11/16 L straps on eBay and there are a lot of nice vintage non-Omega straps out there if you want to broaden your search.
Awesome that really helps- I'll check that out.
Thank you very much!

You'll need to measure the slot width of the strap but the buckle near the top of this page might be the one.

The come in 7mm tongue and 10mm tongue, I think.... and you can find them a lot less than Otto Frei's selling price!

Hi gang,

Just wanna ask for an opinion on this buckle.
Am I right to say it is late ‘70s-‘80s.....for a quartz model?!

Can’t say you’re wrong about it being on a 70s-80s quartz model but I have an identical style on a 59 Seamaster.

You can find info on the 'B' marking at the beginning original post of this thread. I am guessing that it is more appropriate age wise for the '59 than '70s or '80s. According to the OP these 'B' buckles are not as common as some of the others. Is it a 16mm?

My Omega logo on a square is gold coloured, and is on a 1959 Seamaster. It has ‘B (Beta) and SWISS’, similar to one of the examples in Omegastar’s original post.

My contribution is same as @Spruce’s ... gold colored “B” “Swiss” but no plating marks. Seems older than 1988 too.

3.Older style MG.

Note how the older style Omega symbol is much thicker

4.Old style MG.

Evolution of MG. buckles

Older style AW.

Old style AW.

Evolution of AW. buckles

5.Special EK.

8.Later B.

9.Even later B

Well, I think that's all folks.
I hope it will be usefull to someone.

Can anyone help me with a piece of info, pls?

What would be the period correct buckle for my late ‘60s Connie. It is a 18k gold case.
Thanks a lot!

Interesting, I have never seen a case like that before. Do you have any more info on the watch? A photo of the inside case back, year, or any history on the watch. It is similar to a C-Case, but they never had a pie pan dial. At the least early or late sixties, as it makes a difference in the buckle.

It is 168.025, uni shell case. Quite rare, especially in solid gold.
They were available for a few years only in the late 60s

Note that this was written over 10 years ago, so prices are a little low.

I have read that this buckle style is appropriate for late ‘60s early ‘70s. I bought this stainless example for my ‘69 Seamaster. Hopefully another member can chime in. Very cool watch. That was a good read @gatorcpa. I’ll be keeping my eye out for one.

The Seamasters of that era were far sportier and thicker watches that could have supported a buckle like that.

I think these would have been more delicate. Maybe a plain logo buckle with "Omega" on the back.

Looks bad. You can see where it was soldered together.

Run away.

What if I take it to a jeweler to replate it?
The buckle itself is original, right?
