So I was scrolling the internet and I saw this 39mm seamaster. But why dont they do this with a pie pan connie? Would be a interesting project right?

Would the connie community be interested in a modern pie pan?

I'm not a fan of that Seamaster, either. I think they had two choices at that size, more open space on the dial or their choice, crunch everything towards the middle.

Reconfirms the genius of the Original design engineer.

I would be all in, I really like the Globemaster because it reminds me of my Connies. Sadly with the success of the Globemaster, I don't think Omega would go for it. I don't think todays Omega potential customers are into such design, like we Collectors are.

I agree. And it's too bad. A new pie pan today, is a collector's gem in 30 years.

What about this one?

You might find one on the secondary market if you look hard enough.

If they'd lose all the markings below the hands, especially that cheesy term "limited edition" then I'd admire that watch.

I recall once repossessing a car for a bank where I was employed when I was younger. Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme LS Calais. What a bunch of fluff in a model name and a lame attempt to market it as something "more special."

I could go for a pie pan of 37-39 mm if they would take care to maintain dial proportions as TexOmega suggests.

Exactly why I bought a Globemaster. It’s not for everyone, but a pie pan dial combined with the calibre 8900 is unique. Not sure whether it will ever become a collector’s watch, but I know that I’m enjoying it NOW.

Ok. I will write a email to omega. We'll be launching at Basel 2020. Get ready...

BTW, although I really like the “basic” Globemaster, I agree that the annual calendar version is awful.

I love the Globemaster pie pan and tried on both the blue and white versions at a shop. I love white dials or silver dials. But what I couldn’t get over on the white dial was the black hands. If they were silver I would own one. The pie pan in person is amazing to look at. The Globemaster is also a tic big for me. I love the vintage pie pans but I just don’t know enough to buy one yet without getting burned on one.

I agree with you on the white dial version - didn’t care for the black hands or Constellation star. The blue dial/stainless steel bracelet is much more attractive with the rhodium plated hands, star and applied logo and I think represents the best value for money in the Globemaster lineup. I only wish that I had the cash for the platinum version - stunning. Most of the Globemaster line is available from grey market sellers at a considerable discount. I picked up mine for 34% off retail.

Agree on platinum and I also the the yellow gold version would be beautiful. But both are out of my price range.

I realise there is quite a lot of love for the Globemaster on the forum.
I tried on the pink gold version when it first came out and it just didn’t do it for me.
The original pie pan is significantly smaller than the modern watch and I’m not sure scaling up the size of the dial works but then again the Globemaster is not a faithful modern representation of the original pie pan.
I know which I prefer (and you could buy three or four vintage gold Connies for the price of one gold Globemaster)
Comparison on my skinny wrist.

The vintage pie pan Connies are beautiful. No doubt about it. I don’t think that the Globemaster was ever intended to be a modern reproduction of those watches. It’s a thoroughly modern watch with “retro” styling cues that give homage to Omega’s past - specifically, the pie pan dial, the Constellation star, and the observatory medallion. The case is 39mm, but it does wear large. All that being said, it’s a beautiful, stylish watch in its own right with one of the best movements that Omega makes and METAS certification. Future classic? Who knows? Omega at its best? Yep.

gatorcpa[, do you recommend this watch? I have an opportunity to purchase one for about 10K, or (gulp) twice as much as I've ever paid for a watch...
