I am looking for a yellow gold watch. I have a Master Control in stainless that I really like and, lacking imagination, I have wondered about a yellow gold version.

This one has come up in Italy. https://www.chrono24.co.uk/jaegerle...m-18kt-yellow-gold-ref-140189--id21243716.htm

They have no knowledge of it being serviced, so I asked them to time graph it. The readings are not as good as my stainless one, but in fairness that has just been serviced. Mine does 300-315 and theirs 260 with a B/E of 0.4.

Worth a further look? Expert opinion appreciated.

Looks fine. Has probably has a polish. You really cant go wrong with the MC line. I’d to a bit of price comparison before pulling the trigger. Expect to service it.

The images make the edges look quite sharp.

A JLC service will be what? £1k or so? Also probably a few months away.

I cant imagine that someone pays £4k for a steel version. I sold mine for 2700,€ a year ago. And it had a relatively fresh service, steel bracelet and a brand new crock strap with deployant clasp.

Forgive me, but a grand or so for a service? I had a steel Master Control Ultra Thin serviced at Cullen & Co jewellers in Dublin just at the start of the pandemic. With a two year warranty it came to €280. Would there be a particular reason for the discrepancy?

I sold it for about €2,800 for reference.

If you send it to JLC … yea it’s gonna cost. In my comment, I provided a link by which OP could obtain an estimate. Were I to give this to my suburban Chicago watchmaker, I’d probably be where you netted out. I own two modern pieces, bought new and yes, they will both go in for factory service.

The steel ones are about £4k at the moment. The gold one is £5680 currently.
I recently paid £3800 for one fresh from JLC service, new band etc. Looked new.

At the time there were a couple of others around for similar money, without the service.
