Hello ye experts, This Constellation is offered on an auction site. I know, I know, the picture is terrible... Would the unusual placements of "Chronometer officially certified" raise any doubts? I am new to Constellations, so any help is much appreciated. The back of the watch shows the observatory in the same nuance as the case back, so it all steel. The white balance of the image is terribly off, in other words. This is obviously only up for consideration at a rock bottom price. Thanks in advance
Looks like a 168.0033 to me. Powered by a cal 1001, which was a problematical movement that unless having undergone a fix is probably not a watch that you would want to own. If you're new to the vintage examples of the brand, my suggestion is to bone up on different models and get to the point where you know exactly which model you want to own and why. The forum here can help you along that path. Cheers Desmond
Good place to start with your research : Desmond's blog below. http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.my/ You can thank him later.
Save your money for when you know what you like and buy 1 or 2 of the best condition you can rather than loads of watches of so-so condition, M
Thank you all. I am actually looking for a pie pan, but that seems to a jungle... My second alternative is a C-shape with a 5xx movement.
I second Banner's opinion. I too am new to the vintage watch and recently purchased a Pie-Pan Connie. Before making purchase I looked at hundreds of watches online over several months and inquired forum members for buying choices (as you have seen here). I ended it up with a pristine condition watch at a reasonable price (for today's market).
@micked , you could start out by reading the posts made by Deafboy, as they'll probably answer some of your questions!
There seem to b quite a few c- cases coming up at the minute Look at different country eBays and auctions Hope that helps
