Great to see Aldrin still going strong at 93 years young !
To be complete wrist watch wise, although an important Omega ambassador, USAF Brig General / NASA astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin had his Rolex (1993-1994) and Breitling (1995-1999) periods before returning to our favorite brand at the turn of the new millennium.
A reminder NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster 105.012-65 n掳 43 still didn't surface 馃檨
I always focused on the Apollo 11 astronauts' wrists, noting how Edwin Aldrin swapped the NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster n掳 43, from his left hand wrist during launch to his right hand wrist for the actual lunar EVA... something not noticed by Omega in their advertizing campaign as they "photoshopped" an extra Speedmaster on Aldrin's lefhand wrist.

somewhere, i hope buzz's watch is living out it's best days as an anonymous daily beater, still ticking away, a steady 18,000 bph, and yet, that someday, it finds it's way back to the smithsonian... where it belongs.

Thanks for that great read, so many subtle nuances. Just sat here ticking the list on my 105.012-65 - looks like I have a full house of Moonwatch markers

Very interesting article indeed.
The consequence, I found an 105.012-65 "Armstrong" and added to my collection.
Very rare variant IMHO, relatively difficult to find.
