Dear OF members,

I managed to buy a lovely vintage tank, presumably from the 1920s. I couldn't resist the charm of the Radium Breguet numerals and wanted to share it with the community to study it further.

First of all, the brand's name appears to be "A. Gfeller", perhaps a watchmaker or a retailer from Luzen. The only other watch i could find online bearing the same name is this Co-branded Cyma from Ebay.

The small caliber inside appears to be a manually wound AS 709, a simple but efficient movement that ticks strong after almost a century.

Now to the chrome plated case, with its hinged construction and "BE" or "RE" Hallmark. I have no idea why they chose this construction ( probably for better dust resistance? )

On Microlisk.de, the "BE" hallmark indicates Ernst Blaser / Ernst & Hans Blaser ( a casemaker? ) from Luzern.

What do you guys think about these informations? Any leads on the casemaker, case construction and brand will be greatly appreciated. 😀

Looking forward for you guys and gals to chime in!

Cool dial/hands. I agree that the style of the dial/hands looks to be from the mid-1920s to early 1930s. Stainless steel cases from that period are not especially common. From the photos provided, I am not certain that the case is, indeed, stainless steel. Normally, I would expect a marking that mentions the case material.

Thank you for the input @DirtyDozen12 and well seen on the case material, i edited the post!
I would've wanted it to be in stainless steel of course but those puffy Breguet numerals made me overlook that detail! 🥰
