It went for close to USD 4K including fees, which was more than I was ready to pay. Seems to be a nice one, but still.... What do you think?

Here’s the pics provided. No movement shots.

Too much for a steel case. I paid less than 3k for my 14393 fully serviced and it has gold dial accents and came on an Omega BOR bracelet.

IMO too much for this condition.

BTW I would prefer a non-date version. I don´t like how the white date pops out.

This watch had all the clues you could want when hunting a clean glossy dial surface, no lume, service crown, clean hands, bright text. I didn't pursue it as I only go for no dates but it looks like a winner.

Definitely worth it, not that I'd be able to pay

Thanks for sharing the result, I originally had the url on my phone but wasn't able to check on it

Agreed, but if you're looking for a nice black dial, you can't always afford to be that picky 😀

And if you're hoping for a nice original black dial with arrowheads and/or a textured surface, you'll be lucky to see one for sale at all.

Well, normally I'd agree....but this one sold just a couple of days ago...

Hammered at 2400GBP + 30%, so 3120GBP or €3700 all in.

To me this is a way nicer watch, but I would say that as I don't like dog leg Constellations at all 😁

It's hardly surprising that good black dialled Constellations are getting more expensive....they were always hard to find but IMHO in the last 24 months it's become even harder to find any early ref's. with black 2***'s being almost non-existent in the market and 14***'s scarce. The later 6 digit references are not so difficult to find.

I was the underbidder at £2200. Has so tempted to go to £2600 as my maximum was actually £2400 but the way the bidding increments went I ended up at £2200 or £2600. In the end I didn’t go for it and I’m still questioning myself.

I bought that one Chris 😀

Excellent. I was expecting it would either show up here or on a dealers website.
Looking forward to seeing it.

Nice one....I was watching live and saw that no additional bids came in....I'll bet you were happy for that?

I think the auction game lately is pre-hitting the logical bid, I maybe have a 3-4 watch winning streak, I don't even live bid any more, just make the logical bid and move on, as the +1 increment and minimally +$200~ from that point just don't make sense

The original black silver gilt though shines so brightly, my gilts all have very low contrast, maybe it's matte black instead?

“Only” a dome dial and the condition is not perfect, but at less than half the price of the pie pan above, I’m still happy. Bought on eBay last year.

I agree that the early references are more attractive. Especially if they are ref. 2648.
