Very nice - congrats 👍
I suppose you discount the level of work involved because when you're passionate it doesn't feel like work....
May I ask why it's called "Jedi"? I like the orange hands!

PS -doesn't the dial look like it's turning slightlly brown, or gray? That's a nice touch.

Thank you!

I think you're right... it's much more fun than work 😁

The Jedi nickname comes from the late, great Chuck Maddox, giving names to watches that tickled his geeky Sci-Fi fancy 😀

The dial is a flat grey - I'll try to get some better shots 👍

No such thing as luck Chris. You've gotten to the point where you know when you see something worth pursuing. Even though this felt impulsive it was a well targeted buy.

Thanks Larry - I was unsure about this, and went back and forth over a few days. It had been on eBay for 10 days at that point... surprised no one else jumped.

Very nice mate! - I've been keeping an eye out for them. I think i may have even bid on the one that went up for auction.

One for context and scale @JimInOz - finish and size wise, it feels like this would have been more of a logical progression from the "Moonwatch" than the MKII was... it's very, very '70s.

And then, because I am a geek (and like @neilfrancis I collect things that aren't watches too...), here are a couple of shots on the Japanese Chirashi posters from Return of The Jedi and The Empire Strikes Back.

Excellent addition. May I ask where you got the strap?

Nice find! Had been looking for one for a while, and was able to pick one up myself last year. I think it looks great on a corfam racing strap - it was pictured in contemporary brochures like that.

One advantage this forum has given me and I am sure others, is the confidence and knowledge to recognize rarity and value when you see it and act upon it in a decisive manner, as Chris has done with this purchase. Most recently, I purchased my Memomatic (way under market prices) after viewing the auction and pics for all of 7 minutes before the bidding ended. @corn18 nailed it.

PS Great watch Chris!

Unlike eventually football or golf, buying watches sometimes requires more than one ball 😀

Congrats Chris, like already said earlier today ! 👍

And be careful with the box and papers - once you start with that game, the own buying rules tend to change 😉

Thanks Alexis... I didn't need/want boxes before... but now I have some... more!

I can see a restructure of what I collect happening... the Jedi... there's something special there, that's missing from a couple of other things I have...

Isn't that the most exciting in there? 😉

Completely agree - it's also taught me what to ask and what to avoid - the fakes, Frankens, never-wazzes... and what seems to be a limitless supply of dodgy Seamaster 300s...I'm not an expert but at least now I'm better informed...
