That looks like it's had a rather serious overhaul...

And yet the description:

"All parts genuine omega and original to watch".

Hmmm.

Or has this just lived in a hermetically sealed watch box?

"All parts original to the watch and Omega. Guaranteed." and "Original crowns and pushers with colour coded buttons."

To quote verbatim.

I still make ridiculous noob mistakes at least every month it seems (and I've probably lost my excuse to use that excuse at this point)...so take this comment with that in mind....... but I think that example looks awesome. Surely his wording is a little suspect or it is out of ignorance (language and/or watches), or both......but I would go for it if I didn't already have a 910!

No affiliation to seller.

Now......can an expert come along and make me embarrassed to weigh in with my inexpert appraisal? 馃榿

I think unlikely claims are being made...

I agree,I think the seller is being underhand with his description. I am sure all the parts are genuine but did not leave the factory on that watch.

Is the braclet correct for that watch? There is one on Chronomaddox with the same bracelet but all the other photos show a different bracelet.

I can see what you're saying, but keep coming back to "if somethings too good to be true".

The case looks new, the pushers and crowns look new, the caseback looks more worn than the case, the hands look more/less sun bleached than each other. The dial looks better than some of the hands.

Spidery sense most definitly tingling, but maybe I've just become over-cautious?

The other thing: yellow sweep, orange sub hands... That's not a factory combination that I've ever seen..,

The bracelet is the correct 1159 by the look of it. Hands are mismatched, case has been refinished presumably during the last service. Crowns look to be new and maybe pushers also but could be older service items replaced during an earlier service, maybe along with the mismatched hand?
Case back looks like it may have been refinished too
But overall I would say a nice and reliable 910 flightmaster

Would agree with that - just wish sellers would be a bit more honest... 馃槈

True. 'Original to the watch' is probably pushing the truth somewhat 馃榿

Have pointed out our collective concerns to the seller... Interested to see how he responds.

From the seller:

"Hi Chris, this watch has been fully serviced by Rocco of Watchworks (reciept and paperwork included, close to 拢500). If you don't know him, he was a senior Rolex watchmaker and then left to start his own business. He bought Rolex UK's old re-lapping machines and was fully trained in the use of them by Rolex. So as you correctly noticed the watch has been very lightly re-lapped. Perfectly done though and very little material was removed, better and more carefully done than Omega Bienne I would say.

The hands are original to the watch as I bought it, all Tritium hands, but as you correctly noted the orange hand must have been swapped at some point in the past. These hands could easily be replaced to match in either colour, and are ready available. No Tritium so replacing would not impact on the integrity of the watch but I have not chosen to replace them.

The crowns and pushers are the originals but have been repainted to return them to there former state. I don't like the modern replacement pushers that Omega are making so even though this will compromise the waterproofing I prefer it. Just don't get in the Shower or go swimming with
out removing from wrist first!

I hope this answers your questions and doesn't dampen your enthusiasm for what is an absolutely fabulous watch in fully serviced condition!

Kind Regards Simon"

So if anyone is in the market for it, these extra details might make it more appealing?

Thanks Chris. Appreciate you sharing this feedback. I still like the watch but you sure were right about his wording. Let's just say his description definitely wouldn't pass muster on OF!

Exchanged a few messages and seems a decent and knowledgable chap... which makes the description disappointing.

It's a well refurbished piece, with an incorrect sweep hand, that's been worked on by someone decent, and had the case restored.

It is not "original".

yeah spotted it last night - looks nice but yes the incorrect hand and ultra fresh case made it too true to be original IMO

I did think long and hard about having the case refinished on mine, the ebay one does look great but it is nice to have it still original 馃榿

That was pretty funny indeed !

Not the best description but it's given me (maybe others?) some more background on Rocco and his mastering of the lapping machine, so pretty useful in the end !
