Wondering if anyone can offer some insight into this Speedmaster 69st with a 5 digit serial on the caseback.

The number doesn't relate to the movement number at all. I've seen a couple of others with a similar looking 5 digit serial.

Thanks!

I would hazard a guess at a retailer’s stock number.

Have you received an extract for this watch?

Thanks!

How military related?

Watchmaker inscriptions ?
Possibly. Would make sense on the inside of the case, but maybe not on the outside.

.... because it would then have infinite value ::facepalm1::
Ha! Just mention because some mil watches have extra serials engraved on the back. A long shot for sure though! Some kind of stock number system makes sense.

Clearly Buzz’s watch. The good news, it’s worth twelvety million dollars. The bad news, you are going to jail.

Following up with the extract, it was delivered to Venezula in March 1971.
