If you screw down without the pin being properly seated the link will be permanently bent. May be able to straighten it out with tools but would inspect them very carefully. Dont ask how I know... No way can the pin slide far enough to wiggle out if all is in correctly.
It is good to know that the pin can not wiggle out if seated properly. I was only speculating because I did not know if the pin had worked itself on my bracelet, or if it had occurred during the removal of links by the AD when sizing it. However, it is still possible to screw down the pin when it is not seated on the other end without bending the pin because the link can bow out slightly giving the appearance of a bent link. I think that was the case with my bracelet, gforce's, and possibly Longbow's.

I really like the look of NATO straps but don’t like how it wraps around twice, etc. always felt it made things too bulky. So I ordered these relatively inexpensive ZULU straps and have to say I am completely in love. I got all 5 for less than $100 and each adds a different character to the watch. Thought I would share as there may be others who feel the same way.

Thanks!

It's from Gunny and is called the Egypt. Including another pic and a link below:

I've also ordered two additional straps from Europelli and Erme Leatherworks for this watch. I'm even more excited for these and will post pics once they arrive.

Thank you!

Mine arrived a couple of days ago and it’s been on my wrist nonstop. Taking it as my only watch for my work trip and to Geneva the week after to visit the Omege museum!

That is definitely what happened with mine. All good now though! it was worth the wait!

Yes, you won’t bend the pin but you will bend the outer bit of the link (at least my sample of one suggests so). Putting it together correctly showed it to be out of true by about .5 mm, which is noticeable on the assembled bracelet. Guess it can be bent back in a vice or so.

I did previously say I was not very observant 🤔 so my links could be .5mm off and I might not notice it.

Recieved mine yesterday.
Watch is great. Service is nightmare!
Not only the arrangement and communication during the wait, but also staff in OB. I asked him to get that strap changed and he did, with additional scratches on case back for free.
Plus lack of knowledge, they have no clue at all when I inquire about the extract of archives.

Afterall the watch is really nice. Smooth and pretty. I just wish they were more responsive on communications.

Ps mine is early 3000 so i guess whoever still waiting will soon have their speedy.

At long last I collected my 60th Anniversary Speedy yesterday afternoon, The AD staff in Winchester were great and made an occasion of it, mine is the only one they have seen. As for me I couldn’t be more pleased and have been wearing it ever since. This watch makes a great companion piece to my Ed White, only a fifty year gap and now Omega have told me they have a Speedy Tuesday available for me as well!

These are great watches aren’t they? Long story on the ST. Basically like many others I tried to reserve one on the day they were announced and kept refreshing and refreshing and getting nowhere. Still trying the following day the message came up that all watches had been reserved, but that I could go on the waiting list. I did but never expected to hear anything more, in fact during the summer Omega sent me a copy of the Speedy Tuesday magazine and the 60th Anniversary poster to make up in part for missing out. I got the email offering me the ST two days before being notified by my AD that my 60th Speedy had arrived.
I now awaiting delivery of an ST as well!
If I had managed to reserve an ST back in January I would not have reserved the 60th, this way I get both. I have just about convinced Mrs SouthernScot that this is a good idea!

Who knew when I put my order in for the 60th Anniversary Speedmaster at my AD back at the first of May that I wouldn't receive it until December. However, as someone who has a December birthday, I can now more easily justify the watch to my wife as a combination birthday/Christmas present.😁

Honestly, I think the expectation is typically 6-9 months for their LEs, no matter what they say when they start taking orders.

It is arriving at a great time for you. Happy birthday!
