So, after rejecting the initial one, and then again not taking one I was offered in London recently, I finally calmed down and took #2461 on 9 Dec. I have to say that the case, dial and bracelet are perfect, and the only thing that doesn't seem right is the size of the clasp (too big). From my experience, these are much easier to get than a Daytona now, and I don't understand the premiums in the market now?
I just watched an auction for a new unworn LE 60th anniversary Speedmaster 57 end on eBay tonight for £10 less than the UK RRP. Seller must be gutted but winning bidder must be over the moon. Just demonstrates you’re not always guaranteed to make a fast buck.

There’s one on eBay at the moment which is being sold with no reserve. It will be interesting to see how much it sells for.

If it’s the same one I was watching that ended tonight then it sold for £10 less than the uk rrp!!!! Winning bidder must be over the moon. As an owner of one of these watches myself, I have to say I’m surprised and disappointed that it didn’t reach a higher price.

So....I just noticed on mine that 2 of the links are ever so slightly bent so that there is a slight gap where the pin goes through. Those pins are really short to begin with, so I'm concerned it could come apart. I think (pretty sure) the person who sized it was not familiar with the design and inadvertently bent 2 of the links.......which is a real bummer. Has anyone else had issues with the bracelet links not fitting snug, or gaps like I describe? I will be taking it back to see if they can remedy it, but it's a bit disconcerting........

Yep, same issue. Who sized it for you, an Omega OB/AD?

AD.......I’ll probably just get them to swap out one of the spare links to make sure the fit is snug. The pins are really short, and just barely go into the outer link holes.

I actually cancelled my 60th order and ordered a FOIS instead. I couldn't justify the price difference (almost $8K vs just over $3K). That said, I've been drooling over the photos in this thread so maybe I'll change my mind again...

I have both and I love them both, but if you can swing it and still get in on one I'd take the 60th over the FOIS. It's better in the metal and FOISs are readily available.

At long last I have had an ‘email’ from my AD in Winchester to let me know that my 60th Speedy has arrived, and last Friday Omega contacted me to say I was top of their waiting list and they had a Speedy Tuesday for me! This will also be sent to the Winchester AD.
I am in Vienna this week and will contact the AD on my return. Next week is going to be rather expensive!

Here's my 60th on a short NOMOS brown cordovan strap. Apologies for the poor lighting. The strap was darker than I thought, but not as dark as it appears in the photo. My Speedy has the Type 1 dial.

Changed to better photo of strap.

As my son and I were preparing to change to the new strap I bought, he noticed that two links appeared to be bent out, one on each end of the clasp as I had 6 links taken out. Yes, I have girlie wrists. As he took them apart, what he found was the links were not bent, but rather the pin was not in the hole of the outer link but instead just pushing against the inside of the outer link giving the appearance of a bent link, if that makes sense. When my son pushed each pin into their respective holes (unscrewing the small screws first, of course), the the links and bracelet were straight.

I had not noticed these "bent" links before so I don't know if I am just not very observant and it was a result of the AD removing the links initially, or worse, the pins are so short that they can work themselves out of the hole in the outer link. Since I do not plan to have the bracelet on my Speedy again until spring, I'll leave it to the rest of you to be vigilant and report any problems to the rest of us.

Yes, I took mine back to the AD and a different person figured out he exact same thing on mine.....improperly seated pin, no bent links, easy fix. And I ended up taking 6 links out of mine too....6.75 wrist....I just decided I like a tighter fit on this bracelet . When it warms back up I will have to put 1 link back in.

Yes, the pin must be seated be in the hole on each end, but I think it should also be centered as much as possible so there is no chance the pin could work itself out of the "short" side, if that is even possible.

So is the micro adjustment not enough to compensate for the slight variations in your wrist size?
