Because I placed my order with my AD back when it was first announced and it seems like I'll be waiting until at least September
(if not longer) before I find out if they are even getting the watches they've ordered.

So no news from your AD at all? September may even be best case. 2017 seems like the best estimate as long as not 2018 I guess.

I spoke to my AD last week. He said the U.S. rep was there the week before. She informed him to anticipate 4 to 6 weeks. So, I'm preparing myself for late September / early October. I'm guessing the OB's will get them before the AD's.

I was informed last week that they expect to receive the watches in by early September but probably won't be able to fulfill all order until October or November but they still don't know what their final allocated quantity might be. I ended up being second on their list and they only know they're guaranteed 1 of each watch but requested 5 of each. I've also stumbled upon a vintage speedy that I want to pick up in lieu of not being able to get the 60th so just waiting for everything to fall into place has been the worst!

Bite the bullet before it’s gone, if you are able to do so and if it’s still available. Otherwise with nearly 3500 pieces, I’m sure you’d be able to find one after. The unsold ones do pop up.

How come no ST paper magazine? You’d get one if you are on the confirmed or waiting list...
If there are any unsold ones, then I would assume that my AD would get one since they are supposed to have a firm order in that Omega accepted. At least that is what they told me. I was am/was afraid that if all the 3557 watches were (over)sold, then Omega would give priority to the OBs. Every time I have contacted my AD, they call Omega who never has any information about when delivery will be.

As for the ST magazine, I believe Omega was sending them to people on the ST watch list which I am not on since I never tried to order one. I am not sure why I even received the email in the first place.

I was told today in Canada that I could still get a speedmaster trilogy watch. However the price in Canada is $10,350 with tax and shipping included. I am sorry but this watch is not worth that amount of money to me. They really overdid it with the Canadian pricing. You convert the price to USD and then have to add more $$. Wow.

Unfortunately for you the CAD has strengthened since this spring when orders were fist being taken. That might have something to do with the higher $$ you are calculating.

CAD/USD is currently 0.80 this spring it was somewhere around 0.74 which would convert to less than what I would have to pay down here in the US which is $7250 + 700 or so in taxes.

Hi,
New to the forum, but I've been on timezone and others for 10 years. I just put in a order today for a Speedmaster 60th from my AD. I tried wrapping up a deal with the NYC OB this past Saturday, but the story kept changing and the one guy that knew what he was talking about was on holiday. At this point, I have more confidence in my AD then the OB I've done about five deals with this dealer. Hopefully the watch shows but no w watch waiting is the best part. 😀 Jeff-

Congratulations. So this means some are still available. Interesting. I would have thought all were pre-ordered.

OB last week wanted 20% down for order, this week (in person) they wanted 100% down and had 1/2 the info. compared to the first person I talked to the week before. One of my AD that I've done deals with in the past took a $500 deposit and said they had one more allocation, but it might be a couple months.

Since they are not at AD or OB isn't it still a pre-order? As others have said 3,557 is still a lot of watches.

I'm happy to see this discussion revived. No one had posted since 8/12 before I did yesterday. Maybe the 60th Speedy is just on the horizon. 😉 I think I can almost see it.

I shouldn't get hopes up...I don't know if it only means the other Trilogy pieces, but my OB is expecting first deliveries next week...Atlanta.

That would be great! Trilogies probably a bit later, I'd guess...

Canadian AD at Bayview Village in Toronto I spoke to last weekend told me he expects individual trilogy watches to start arriving in next 2 weeks. He also told me that I could still buy a Seamaster or Railmaster if I wanted one, but the Speedmaster and Trilogy set are sold out.

I also agree with @Japenney that Canadian pricing is out to lunch (I'm sure the dollar does factor in)....

I really dig the Seamaster in particular but not at $10K+ CAD. Interested in hearing what people think these will do on the secondary market. Is this going to be a 'Silver Snoopy' situation where they go up, or will the individual watches follow a more traditional depreciation curve, especially as it sounds like they're still available and I'm sure at least a few speculators were/are in the mix on these?

@sjg22 I totally agree that the Canadian prices are crazy. I can't see these holding value well in Canada at that price. Especially since they are not sold out an there are 3500pieces + the actual trilogies. It's a nice watch but for 10kCAD i will still go with a Rolex BLNR or 116610lv.

Are all three watches the same price in Canada?

I feel for our Canadian friends. I wonder why Omega Canada is trying to gouge their citizens by applying what appears to be an uplift over the converted price.

I believe prices were set by HQ for each country.

Canadians are used to getting screwed on pricing.

When the CAD was at par (or above) against the USD a number of years a go, despite the Ford Windstar minivan being made in Oakville, Ontario - 30 minutes from downtown Toronto, the "destination and delivery" charge for the car was apparently MORE in Toronto than in Texas.

I.e. the invoice suggested that it cost more to get the car 35 minutes down a single highway than send it across half the continent down to Texas.

Add on 13+% sales tax and it generally pays to shop south of the border unless the dollar is really in the toilet. I saved $500 shipping a new Apple Macbook to Montana rather than buying it in Toronto given the zero state sales tax and difference in Canadian vs US pricing a few years ago.
