Dear all,
Does the Connie in the pictures look genuine? I don't have pictures of the movement.
The seller (a vintage watch store in the US) claims that it's from the 60's. Sorry about my ignorance, but I thought this exact design was only made in the 50s.
Thank you!!

Do you have a reference number for the case or a serial number from the movement?

Unfortunately no, the seller hasn't provided any info regarding these.

Edit: The seller later confirmed that the reference is 2852-4 sc, 24 jewels cal. 505, and the watch is from 1958, not the 60s.

I would suspect this watch is from the 1950s.

Well, at least the crown is wrong.

I believe most (all?) of the pie pans were 2852s. The bumpers only came in dome dials I think?

Ref. 2652 has a screw-down caseback, so that's out of the question. When comparing bumper autos such as ref. 2782 with a ref. 2852, you can tell by the slightly taller snap-on caseback that it is a full-rotor automatic 😀

If anyone told me there were no wonderful watch fans here, I would call him crazy. 😀

Do you know if any 2652s or 2782s came with pie pan dials?

Eh... Not at the top of my head. I believe that the all gold DeLuxe ones have?

Deffo not 1960s, as the guys say above most likely a mid-late '50s 2852. Note the spelling of Chronometre. This places it as no later than about 1958 (I forget the exact cutoff, see Desmond's site for info), the spelling changed to meter in the late '50s. That dial didn't AFAIK make it into the 60s, the lug design not much beyond 1961 when the dog legs took over.

Oops, sorry, should be 1795 USD.

Sounds ok. Not a bargain, but ok, if the movement has been serviced.

In your opinion, what would be a good price for a Constellation pie pan in this condition if it's recently serviced? Thank you
