·My guess is tarnish that was polished off everywhere that they could reach with a buffer, leaving that little crevice un-buffed? Makes me a bit sad.. I wonder how sharp it was before..

OK, that would be much better if it's just tarnish. I was actually worried it was the base metal showing. It's not really a crevice IMO, but it could certainly be some debris or sloppy polishing. At least the OP should ask about it. Better to ask than just assume it's ok.

I think I would be willing to pay the asking price. You dont see these often with this dial condition. And the 2852 is my favourite connie design with the arrowhead markers. So I would be willing to pay a premium.
