39mm Explorer on a leather strap?

Hi all, I’m New to the forum and recently bought a Rolex Explorer. I would love to buy a leather strap to change my setup occasionally.

Could you recommend a toolkit to Change bands manually?

PS: I love the Colareb bands. Could you please also advise which dimensions fit on the 39mm Explorer? I dont find the exact sizes in the specs on the website/in the leaflet.

In all honesty, you could thread an oily old rag through those lugs & it would still look great. That is a beautiful watch.

Try the Bergeon 6767-F or 7825. I would suggest avoiding cheap spring bar tools and spend the little bit extra to buy it once and buy it right. You don’t really need an entire tool kit to change a strap.

As the Explorer has 20mm lug width, any 20mm strap will fit 😀

Always remove the spring bars from the back of the watch. I also use a copious amount of tape on the back of the lugs. This way if (and when) your tool slips you’ll only scratch the tape and not the lug. It’s nothing super technical but having patience and a steady hand helps. Plenty of YouTube videos on it as well

Metal bracelets had a lot to do about when straps were harder to change, didn't last in certain climates, and because many people would often have an allergic reaction to the chemicals used in tanning and/or coloring the leather. But Rolexes have always looked good on a strap, and leather in particular.

The Expy is so versatile! You can wear it with anything. I think the more texture/color the better on that watch. The monotone NATOs and the smooth leather or rubber would not be my first choices.
