Hey everyone,

Before I purchase this watch and I wanted to post it here to see if anything catches your attention as not being original. The one thing I am skeptical about is the hands, it looks like they were replaced at some point. Thoughts?

Do the hands glow after charging with sunlight? If so, then they are probably Superluminova modern replacements. If not, but they fluoresce under UV light like the tritium hour markers, then they are probably original. At least this is my understanding. Looks like a nice watch!

Sorry, just realized you are not in possession of it yet. Maybe you can ask the seller to charge it in the sun then take a photo in a dark room.

I dont know if this helps but here is a 3572.50 and a 3590.50 that I believe are both in original condition, and both tritium.

yup, confirmed with the buyer that the hands glowed in the dark slightly. So not the original tritium...going to be a pass for me.

Wait a minute @samatluck, my tritium hands glow in the dark. SL glows brighter, greener and longer than tritium but you have to compare them both to see the difference.
Dont dismiss that watch just yet....

This is the 3590.50, just took the picture.
The hands and the indices glow with the same colour and brightness which imho indicates original tritium all over.

Agree, yours are all tritium. The seller says the indices don't glow, just the hands, and its faint. I think this confirms they aren't original? Thoughts?

Ask the seller to send a picture of the watch in the dark, as it is. And then another picture after exposure to a strong light for a short while. And then another picture when the glow have faded a bit. If the fade is even then the lume is probably all tritium. If hands glow substantially brighter than the indices then that would indicate SL hands.
Imho.

Another possibility could be that the hands were replaced with new tritium hands at some point after the watch was bought, thus they would glow brighter than the indices

And also remember that its not uncommon to see variance in the intensity between indices and hands on 100% original untouched watches.
How much is the asking price for the watch? Lovely example with my fave bracelet.

I think this is the correct bezel, see the different 7 from 70 and the different tachymetre spelling
