Hello dear forum 馃

I got an offer for a watch, but I don't know if it's a 14233 or a 1500? The seller doesn't have any information either. Need help from the community of the forum.
Please look at the photos.

Also, I have some doubts about the crystal.
Is it an original crystal? Too domed? Or it's okey?

Big thanks and any comments are highly appreciated!

Pretty sure 1500 is a date reference, so it's not that, but I assume you're really asking about 4-digit (e.g. 1005) vs 5-digit.

Normally one simply removes the bracelet and reads the reference and serial numbers from between the lugs. Dials are often replaced, so you really can't judge by that.

That said, if the crystal is acrylic vs sapphire, that most likely can narrow it down for you.

Most likely a 1005, but the lugs seem a bit long and have the profile of a 5 digit case. The crystal also looks very odd with a very low profile. You have to examine quite closely.

I think the crystal is not original. I have not found that Rolex installed such crystals. The original Rolexcrystal should have a different profile geometry. However, crystal can be replaced, this is not a problem.
Overall, the case and bezel are in good condition. The bezel is sharp. The lugs also look good and have the correct shape.
