@ 20K plus buy an original, there have been a few sold recently on the private sales forum for around this figure and you are getting a original and period correct movement.

I like the look of the new release but would rather put my money into vintage,

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but I have it on good authority that the Platinum will be priced at $59,400.

No idea about the Steel yet.

Give or take its the same price as the existing green platinum Speedmaster, was expecting a higher price

Right. But who's buying a green platinum speedmaster?

I didn't ask for a price, but I won't be surprised if that's it. If it is, I rather just go for a Daytona in that range since I already have a Speedy...
Good luck with the Daytona if you are looking for the stainless steel. I have been on a “waiting list” for almost 3 years. I’m about to give up and stop playing games with Rolex.

Somewhere here are one/maybe two watches that could have made me spend a lot of money.... but I am not sure the current choice is working.
Having said that a slow burn sometimes becomes a buying fire. Either way I was not jumping until the 321 came out......
Moonshine all the way

$20k for a stainless Speedmaster is truly madness from Omega; there will not be a market at that price point for reasons already pointed out in this thread (people will buy 321 vintage or alternative luxury brand, or precious metal Speedies), not to mention economies don't keep roaring on forever. Let's see what happens. I for one would not be a buyer at $20k no matter how beautiful it is, I'd opt for vintage, or a gold watch everytime.

I presume this is the reason why Omega limited annual output of 321 to 2000 pcs. They will try making it an icon. So that all of us one day will wholeheartedly part with 20 k.

Totally agree, $20K for a SS Speedmaster is crazy, I love the idea of owning a 321 calibre Speedy but not at a silly price, I was interested in the A11 50th but didn't have the money at the time but I would consider a 321 if it was priced similarly.

I just spoke with my OD. They told me that the platin 321 is not limited and costs 55k EUR.
That is ridiculous for a non limited version.
I'm out.

I was never in, as soon as Platinum was mentioned it was all over, I will struggle to justify £7500 on a watch let alone anything above that.

Even in a steel case, there is no way the new 321 was/is going to be less than £10K. The amount of hype they have put into restarting production and how it is hand made by Swiss Elves implies the price will be eye watering. On another thread, we have compared the cost of making a plat case vs a gold case, it comes out about even, in fact slightly cheaper to make the Plat one, yet Omega are charging near double the price of the 3861 18K gold 50th for the new plat 321 model, this implies they think the movement alone adds $25K...

Unfortunately I think that you are right, I don't believe that a SS321 will be available for under £10k, but I have to hope that it will be, so until the watch is announced and the price confirmed I can dream that I will get one. 😀
