Have you ever seen this case-back?

10917661_back.jpg

I have searched around for information about this, found only one page mentioning it here: http://longines30l.com/index.php?en_longines-30l-olympic,49

It is supposed to be made for the Olympics in Rome, Italy ... and the movement is the great manual wind 30L.

Some more inputs on this model will be appreciated 😀.

The watch on that page has a refinished dial.

You could always send an e-mail to Longines asking them about this model. I'd be interested to see what they say. Longines did official timing for several Olympics, including the 1972 Munich games. There are always single pusher Conquest chronos from that year listed on eBay.

I have the answer, wow, didn't expect it. I asked generally for the model, and pasted them the above watch at longines30l.com as a reference.

Dear Quang Pham,

Thank you for your email and interest into Longines watches.

For your information, the watch “Olympia” has been produced on April 7th, 1959 and has the reference 6957.
It was made in 18k gold and is fitted with the Longines manufacture caliber 30L.
In addition, a blue enameled and gold medallion are on the back of the watch.
This model have specially been created for the Italian and Spanish market.
Unfortunately, we do not communicate on the number of watches produced by Longines.
Hoping this information is convenient to you, I remain at your entire disposal for any additional information you may require.
Best regards,
Jennifer Bochud

found another example from a WRUW thread:

618453d1328271920-heres-febuary-wruw-longinesromaweb02.jpg

here is the description from the OP:

A scarce commemorative Longines ref.6957 edited during 1959 for the 1960 Rome's Olympic Games....... The back medal.....equipped with a solid 30L movement.....

Anyway, my example has the exact same dial like the reference pics above, but more aged. I am planning to have a 30L from ages, and now wow, what a first 30L 😀 ... I will get back once I receive mine

I can't wait to see it. I might have to add a new target to the list.

I found another Ref. 6957 online, but didn't want to post the pictures as it might be the one you've purchased.

Is it the one from Italy on Subito.it?

Mr. InvestiGator,

It's ok, I cannot access subito.it from here. 😀

Give a ref number, some other pictures are popping up:

It wasn't as easy as I thought, but here are your pictures. I suggest you make a copy for your records before the seller takes them down.

I guess it is it 😀.

Thanks, I am really happy with this purchase. Now, a flagship with flagship back and 30L caliber would be a nice company of this.

Hi mister baoquang,

the pictures of stainless steel Longines are mine, or better, the watch is mine. 😀

While, the second pictures (the watch in solid gold) is property of a friend of mine (nickname: Longinespassion), who is a big Longines vintage collector, and some times ago he did a very good research on this model.

From some vintage pubblicity, those watch were products for 1960 Olympic game in Roma.

One more pictures of watch.

Have a good time. 😀

Giuseppe.

Giuseppe, can you get your friend to join here? We have less than a handful of knowledgeable Longines collectors, and we'd love to get another voice in here.

I took some other shots of mine,

Thanks Giuseppe for the information, seems my example is correct and the dial is the same like yours. I would like to ask about the papers. Where are they from? Do you have them physically? If yes, could I have a photocopy of them somehow, or a scanned image? I would like to keep them as references for my piece. Thank you.

Thank you all 2 for your nice messages.
Baoquang as you got the papers asked to Giuseppe, if it is the case, I am also interested to document my copy.
