How fortunate to have found this steel version....
Do you have any pictures of the dial
in any case the medallion of the steel version seems like a new too...
The crown seem to be the original version .
I think you are not many to own the 2 version of this rarity..

Well friendly, and with a little jealousy, Thierry

Hi mister baoquang,

the pictures of stainless steel Longines are mine, or better, the watch is mine. 馃榾

While, the second pictures (the watch in solid gold) is property of a friend of mine (nickname: Longinespassion), who is a big Longines vintage collector, and some times ago he did a very good research on this model.

From some vintage pubblicity, those watch were products for 1960 Olympic game in Roma.

One more pictures of watch.

Have a good time. 馃榾

Great information

For the crown, I found my solid gold appear to be as original, as on the paper.

while the SS version has the crown as yours... it seems two are all correct though...

I will get the dial of SS captured tomorrow.

Now, the lugs of the SS are... modified to fit the strap (16mm, instead of original 18mm). It is beyond my imagination, but the previous owner has indeed a very bad watchmaker. I hope mine will be able to fix this.

Here are the twin together:

Great to see the 2 together! Dibs on the gold version. I have seen lugs of gold watches distorted to adjust narrower straps but never seen that on stainless steel (I would think that the top case would give before the lug moves). Fingers crossed that you can put it back in position.

Nice trio! Is one rose gold and the other yellow (it is difficult to tell from the picture)?

Steel version (ref 6958) auctioning today, less beautiful condition than the @baoquang standard (e.g. generic crown), currently standing at Eur 400 on WikiCat. (NB no connection to me, and I can't bid atm). Great period piece, although my issue with it is that the caseback medallion shows, among other things, a racing car and an (ice) hockey player. Yet this model is consistently described as a commemoration of the Rome Olympics. I think even Longines call it the "Olympia" or something. I guess what it is really saying is to position Longines as the all-around sporting (as opposed to "sports") watch. Even back then, as the caseback shows, their pre-eminent association was with equestrian sport, and I have to say I do love the use of the winged hourglass logo as a horse jump. We're all completely steeped nowadays in sport-branded stuff, but I wonder how far back it goes in the vintage era? Any thread-starters with examples out there?

As I see these, I really get a sense that Longines watches were so elegant.

If I think of a watch honoring the Olympics today, I don't imagine them to be as elegant. The recent Omegas with the 5 colours I thought were well done.
