Rolex rotors are very quiet.
Apparently very very quiet! I will wear it and run it some on a winder and see how it goes without winding it. Power reserve about 60 hours I guess.

Never mind. Just saw it’s 48 hour reserve

Lest I earn my tag line again, they are a very different experience. I’m happy to hear you got one in three weeks.

I love Rolex. I think this the one of the best picks in the ceramic submariner line.

Hyperbole or hyperbolic 😀

I appreciate the thoughts. I’m shocked at the turnaround time as well

Thanks. All my other watches have complications so this was very different for me

I thought it was scratched too but a wrag took it off

'wrag' typo? Or you wiped it off with your skull-cap?

Nice addition to the collection!!

congrats!
Thanks. Surprisingly it’s turned into a big deal for me personally. Even after buying some special pieces like the Apollo 11 50th SS

Congrats and I'm happy to hear some news about Rolex catching up with demand on the hollow-log network. I've got my name in for a black date version.

Congrats and looks great. I don’t really dig the 6 digit Rolex (I’m more of a 5 digit person) but if I did that would be the one I’d go for. Elegant but looks reassuringly quality.

it would be interesting to hear how you feel it compares against the Apollo 11. I know they are different watches etc but in terms of finish and build quality. One of the common comments over on TRF is that the omega doesn’t feel as quality as the Rolex. Not something I’ve ever found, but given you have 2 new and lovely pieces it would be good to get your take.

What I have found so far is the the A11 feels more balanced. The Sub seems a bit top heavy. Then again that’s a big block of SS so it stands to reason. The finish quality on both of them is excellent. The A11 seems head and shoulders above the rest of the Omegas as far as quality goes. I’ve had it now for about 3 months. I do have to give it to a Rolex though. They seem to create something really nice

The AD where I picked my Sub up called me to come by for a gift today. The sales rep said since it’s my first Sub I should celebrate (never got something like this for my Omegas or Breitlings from them. Only swag)

When I put my deposit down on the Apollo 11 at the St. Louis boutique I was given a half bottle of Pommery champagne which I opened when I finally got the watch in August. And in May I dropped by the Houston boutique and was chatting with one of the managers and I mentioned I was partly in town for our wedding anniversary, at which point he went in the back and came back with a full bottle of champagne. All outlets are different in how they parcel out stuff like this.

Congrats. Out of curiousity, what warranty do you get when buying from the ad?

@GandOsDad: Ten years. Best in the business.

Edit: Boy, did I get that wrong; I was thinking about the recommended service interval. As stated elsewhere, it is five years, still pretty good.

I find the brand to be more than marketing, it has a certain indescribable feeling when you have it on your wrist, whether people know you’re wearing one or not.
Don't want to burst your bubble or anything, but isn't the feeling that you describe exactly what marketing does?

Congrats on your sub @Hduck! Hopefully this signals that the times in which "Rolex can't deliver sh•t" are ending...

It’s the standard 5 year Rolex warranty. They are a big dealer for Rolex in the Houston area.

Also the sales rep said that Rolex has extended the period for servicing the watch to 10 years
