🙁 such a nice watch though... fit my wrist perfectly lol... I think 37.5 is my perfect watch size.
At least I have my trusted Sparkle Dial to keep me company till I find something else 😀. Thanks again everyone for all the information! This was a great learning experience and fun (although I had to return).
I wasn’t allowed to becuase it would void a return 🙁. It would have been interesting. Also the Omega Guy also said this was not an 80’s seamaster chronograph lol.
nope, not 80s. What was the asking price if you don’t mind sharing?
I checked google's cached version of the listing for this watch from June 26th, and it was listed as sold then also. So it's possible that this watch has been sold and returned multiple times.
Seriously!?! Geeeeeez. Tsk tsk....
I had thought they were a reliable seller.
Well, the fact that a watch was bought and returned isn't necessarily a red flag, but in this case, it's tempting to read between the lines.

Huh this picture looks strange... the applied logos look embossed in this light lol. It's not like that in real life trust me.
But back on topic... Not sure where to go now for reputable Vintage Omega buying online....
The sales forum here is my suggestion
Not sure where to go now for reputable Vintage Omega buying online
U think people who sell on there are reputable?
This is the challenge. It takes a lot of patience and time to find a reputable source. When you come across one, you can always google "xxxx omegaforums review" and see what others say about them. You can use the search bar in this forum as well but you might get a broad scope of results to weed through.
A lot are. You will hear the term "buy the seller" a lot. If you find something you like, copy/paste the user's name into the forum member search bar or google "xxxx omegaforum reviews" and read through them. Sometimes the seller links their reviews so they are easier to find. Building confidence is the act of buying the seller. Reach out to them and build a rapport with them. It also takes confidence on your end, but with time and patience, you will find someone and something you like.
Also, go to the members profile page and see how they interact with the forum. You will learn a lot about someone just by that.
True. But thats a 1173 bracelet...and it looks legit.
Authentic Beads of Rice Omega bracelets are hard to come by... And I could see from the pics that the crown, glass, are signed. Any other red flags that u see?
Just a point about terminology—is the 1173 what you'd call a BOR bracelet? The middle rows look rice-y enough, but the massive flat sidelinks make it hard for me to think of it as in the same category as the five-row BOR or even the flatter seven-row jobs.
