The buyer got a great watch there, I wanted it to go higher but price was just right IMO.
I would love to know if the polishing on the lug tops and sides was done recently or not, it looks pretty fresh. The case should have been left alone, looking inbetween the pushers and crown on this watch is what it should have stayed like, again I don't think it even affected value anyway and with a dial like that who will even care?

Yes, interesting on the App, it does state sold for 80k CHF... does not include buyers premium. I was unaware that auction houses did this, but it definitely inflates what we see as “sold” price.

It's much better for them to include the buyers premium in the sold price as that's what the buyer did pay. I find it frustrating when sold prices are shown without the premium

I would agree this price paid is what the watch sold for.. when you are buying at auction you certainly have to be conscious of the fees.. or you can end up in big trouble!

I followed the auction yesterday. The last bid (from California apparently) went « all in » at 80k while the watch was stuck at 65k. I believe this « «froze »all the others bidders!

What does that mean? Are you saying the bid increments were lower than 15k when it hit 65k. Bidding then stalled at 65k with nobody willing to take the next increment and then someone decided to bid more than next increment, jumping straight to 80k? Or the auctioneer increased the increment to 15K? Once it hit 65K?

Once it hit 65k (we were at 5k increments), some bidder over the phone decided to jump directly to 80k. The effect was immediate as all the other bidders went quiet being probably a bit astonished as I was of such a jump ;-)

@Marsimaxam re your confusion about the VAT. It says any applicable vat charges. VAT may or may not be applicable depending on the country of the buyer and the arrangements between Switzerland and the buyers country.
The flip side to that is the buyer may have to pay import taxes.
To my country you would have to pay additional 25% VAT on that price..

This is pretty typical. It suits the auction to list the inclusive price since it looks like they achieve a higher sale price. Several UK auctioneers do the same.

I can confirm this is exactly what has happened with watches I've purchased at auction in the past, they now show up as hammer price + fee as the "price realised".
