2998-1 Tropical or Oven Baked?

Came across this 2998-1 for sale and whilst I appreciate that some dials can turn tropical under the right conditions this one seems suspicious. The lume plots all look like they have melted. I’m not sure this would happen under normal conditions.

Thoughts?

60 degrees Celsius to high and left for 10 minutes to long in the oven.

I can’t get my head round why someone would risk ruining a perfectly good dial to obtain this type of patina. Appreciate that tropical dials are more attractive and command a higher price but there’s no way I would have the balls to cook one up.

This appears to be a classic 2998-7 brûlée dial delivered to France in late 1959.
