Hi I have for sale this beautiful vintage Speedmaster 2998 - 62 reference. SERIAL 19 832 XXX - delivered to France June 12, 1963 CASE The case is in very good condition. Edges are very sharps even if some marks are present on the lower left lug. The caseback shows also some signs of wear and has some marks of opening attempts but the sea monster is quite crispy and overall does not seem to have been polished BEZEL The original DON bezel is in fantastic condition DIAL Original dial turning slowly tropical with original tritium lume that moved into a dark orange color HANDS The hour, minute and chronograph hands seem to be vintage tritium hands. Hour and minute hands are probably vintage service hands but are for sure tritrium filled. CROWN The crown is also original to the watch with the flat foot sign engraved. PUSHERS The pushers are the Small & Short original to the watch MOVEMENT The movement is the famous 321 caliber that is running very well. Watch has been serviced in January 2020 by a member of this forum based in Paris, France. Chrono starts and stops very well and resets at 12 properly. BRACELET This watch comes with a vintage steel bracelet reference 7912 stamped 4 / 63 and aftermarket end links #6 (if someone prefer the 617 endlinks on the pictures it would not be a problem of course but they does not look as good IMO) The price asked for this beautiful example is now 16,500 €. The watch is located in Berlin, Germany, face to face transaction is welcome and it can also be easily shipped via DHL anywhere (delivery in Europe is included in the price, for the rest of the world please ask me). Bank wire only or cash for face to face transaction. Return is not accepted unless the watch has been really misrepresented, I can send as many pictures as you want to avoid any doubt and future trouble. I have several references as a buyer or a seller on this forum and am pleased to answer any question about this watch. Thanks to OF for the space!
After a very interesting discussion with @Spacefruit and the fantastic sale post from @ChrisN I will try to provide better pictures to my post And even if I clearly don't have Chris' photography skills I hope it will give a better perception of how this watch looks like. Again thank you for the great contributors and help this forum bring every day
Can you take a close up of the hour and minute hand? Are they flat or slightly curved in them selves at the holes? Hard to see.....
no one interested?? Am i missing something? Maybe i should trade in my close-to-perfect 145.012.......hmmm......
The world is holding on to cash right now not spending massive amounts on luxury non-essential items.
Nice watch .... curious that your second set of pics didnt’ do the trick .... yet; although @DLT222 may be on to something, in part. Lovely watch....GLWYS @Delbok
You are right, I know. This thread was posted on Feb 10th - at least in Germany there was no "panic" yet back then....and, crazy enough, I still know a few people spending their extra cash on "useless" things like watches... Personally I agree with you . it would somehow feel awkward to spend a lot of cash on non-essential things right now. I also postponed a deal I made with a friend for my DRSD - he does have the money and it wouldn't hurt him to spend it, but....as I said. Anyway - hope you all are in good health.
Thanks for your kind words but I am afraid @DLT222 is right... As @Felice79 mentioned it should does not make much difference for the people able to spend this amount of money into watches but as pretty much everybody will wait and see what's happening after this disaster it is almost a free option until the end of the crisis. Nevertheless, they are still some people buying as I sold last week another watch (not Omega related) to a fellow collector in the US, so there's still hope
Mods may soon *and should* delete your post @Felice79 .... there’s ONE watch here to drool over. Sorry
While nice, you would still be quite far off in cabbage ... unless you have 2 of those FS PS: I have already endorsed this watch (and GLWS)
