Hello - here are a few pictures of my 2990-1.

I had only seen one in pictures until I came across this watch. I must say I was surprised at how striking it is.

I have a flat link 1035 bracelet for it with proper endlinks on the way.

I have come to understand that it does not have the proper crown. Does anyone know a part number or how to locate the proper crown?

Thank you!

Paul

Very nice indeed. I think it originally had a 7077 bracelet with n.4 endpieces (18mm)

Ahh, I see. I have the #4 endlinks en route. I guess I have the wrong bracelet in the 1035. They are so similar at a glance. I never realized there were so many variants of the flat link bracelets.

Nice watch. Yes the 1035 was an evolution of the 7077 and came out towards the end of the 60's so wouldn't be quite period correct for a Railmaster.

Nice find! It looks to me as if the crown wasn’t only incorrect but sitting at an angle - at least your first two pictures suggest that. Might be a bent stem, but I’d have that checked by a watchmaker before it destroys anything else.

Thank you. I will investigate the issue with the stem.

I am on the the hunt for the proper crown which seems to be st45002 based on search of this forum and what I see in pictures. However, Cousins lists st45003 and I have seen a few pics with that crown, as well. I am assuming both were used at some point?

I’m led to believe the 45003 is correct for the 2990 case whether Seamaster or Ranchero. Whether this is a stock replacement which differs from the original I honestly don’t know but whatever it should look like this .....

Interesting - this is where I get a bit confused. This thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/can...-on-an-omega-2990-cal-267-crown-please.52865/

would suggest that you have 45002ST on the watch pictured there. What do you think?

The original crown is definitely a bowler hat crown so from the choices the 45002 looks the correct one. However I have seen many many Rancheros with the incorrect bowler crown and that could be the 45002 you suggest used as a later replacement?
I can’t tell from the photos in the other thread but the 45003 definitely looks wrong

Here’s a side view picture clearly showing the bowler hat shape ...

and the logo should be a flat foot like this ....

If it isn’t like this then it’s incorrect
