Wasn't it OXG rather than OGX? Anyhow, there is now enough about this watch to make me question whether it is a put together.
Thanks for correcting us padders!
yes my bad OXG u are right
My bad first 😜

Isn't it linked to the US market always seen with the OGX stamp on another part of the movement?
Here you can faintly see the OXG stamp on the Ebay watch, edited for clearer view.

The 2998 sold at skinners a few days ago had the 2 position and OXG markings as well indicating a USA 321

To me as long as you had the two 2 adjustments and the oxg stamp it was supposed to be good but I don’t know if there was actually no 321 speedy produced with these engravings, @Vintagewtchzilla do you have more information about this?

I have seen at least more than a few examples with two different inscription styles which are believed to have been made for the US market.

First one IMHO is for the earliest 321 movement that reads "TWO 2 ADJUSTMENTS" seen in some 2915/2998's, and second one as seen from @michael e 's 105.003 that reads "ADJUSTED TWO 2 POSITIONS". Here are a few pictures I have on file.

2915-1

105.003 from Michael

105.002 from DB1983.com

Note that all of them are accompanied with a balance bridge that has "OXG" inscribed on.

i said ...as far i know ... and now i learned something new 👍

so it seems to be an USA special for me.

my 2998 delivered to norman morris on 15.NOV 1961 didn't have the OXG nor the adjusted statement.

do we know the exact time span when they stamped the OXG ?

OXG here on my one-owner 321 but "UNADJUSTED" instead of "Two adjustments"

Interesting, indeed. 📖

Hi everyone. This is my watch. Thanks for all your comments. It's a great watch! I sell primarily modern, independent watches and have had this one in my personal collection. Got an eBay offer to sell up to 3 items with no final value fee, so I figured I'd roll the dice and have some fun! Will be interesting to see how it ends up as these are tricky to value.

FYI, it was sold several years ago by a major auction house with this note in the description: "The present lot is also presented from the family of the original owner"

I bought it from the buyer in that auction who is a major collector/customer of mine. So it has pretty clear provenance

Amazing, all those 2915 owners who come to the forum to tell their stories only once their watch listed for sale somewhere 🍿

I've been a lurker here and have PMed with members, but honestly am not expert enough in these things to dice it up with you guys. If you want to chat MB&F, Greubel Forsey, URWERK, etc, I do that all day!

Just sold for $48,100 final price, with no bidding activity in the last 5+ days!
A bit surprised by this result....👎😵‍💫

Yeah I was about to post the same, may be because of the movement? The unattractive caseback? I thought as well it would have at least reach the 50k

Indeed. Add to this the re-lumed hands, the horrible strap, and the fact that collectors are more than ever focusing on the CONDITION, but still... Quite surprised!!

The whole thing got screwed up, eBay basically has no control over their users. Two users bid it up and then cancelled their bids for no reason so it dropped back down. Not only did this put people off I think, but I just spoke to the winner who committed to something else after being outbid and had no idea they could still be held accountable when they never once had a leading bid. So...in the end, looks like it's still right here with me 😵‍💫

I am sorry this happened mate and thank you for sharing some of the back story with us!!
What is it lately with auctions having operational issues!?! First Bukowskis and now this one.
I am sure it will find a good home eventually...👍

PS: remove that horrible strap you put on it!! 😉

Honestly the whole thing was just for fun anyway, so maybe this is a sign it was a bad idea! Anyway, luckily didn't cost me anything and hard to complain with a 2915 on my wrist!

PS Sorry you guys hate my strap haha
