2254 w/ OEM Rubber Strap Issues

Brand new from the AD and the strap doesn't seem to fit properly. Note the the gap at the "end link" area in the pics attached, its so bad that the strap wobbles on both ends. My 2500 Planet Ocean on its respective rubber strap from Omega didn't have this much "end link wobble".

Should I ask the dealer for a replacement or is this a common issue?

It's the one everyone seems to claim is for this case, yes.

Maybe its the spring bars? Had a quick look on another forum and it seems the strap works, but its tight on one side and loose on the other.

I've also had an issue with same strap. The spring bar holes are not where they should be so I cannot get the strap to attach correctly. I'm thinking it may be due to a different vendor making the strap.

I think that strap is designed for the ceramic version; I have it on mine and it fits fine. That version of the SMP has a thinner case, so perhaps that's the problem?

This is the strap meant for this case, I think the above link points to the spring bars being the culprit.

No, it’s not. Did you even look at the link the other member posted? In that thread Archer says this strap was meant for a chronograph case and not this thinner case. One can get it to work with thicker bars, but it really wasn’t intended for this case. In fact, I’m pretty sure this strap was only intended for the Planet Ocean cases, which are a little different than the 2254 case.

98000037 is the strap for the 22545000.

That’s the stitched strap. Not the one I’m after. So they don’t make the PO style rubber strap for these?

The '85 is the correct strap and fits my 2254.50.00 just fine. If you're not using 1.8mm spring bars, preferably OEM, it won't fit right. You must have the right size bars.

As I said, that is the strap for the 22545000. It's the only one that Omega identifies as being for that case. Other straps may fit, but you would have to try them to find out.

You are of course correct. The '85 is officially for the GMT, I think? In any event, it will fit a 2254.50.00.

There is another rubber strap officially for the 2254.50.00... I can't see a number on the rubber part but the clasp is 94531803, maybe @Archer can cross-reference it.

The 98000037 is alleged to be rubber but not waterproof!

My 2254 on the 98000085 strap. There is a small amount of movement, not significant.

Im actually using brand new OEM bars. Guess I’ll just have to deal with the wiggle.
