Another quote from another Wall Street genius….because they never get it wrong lol. So Omega will suffer if they DON’T follow the playbook of strategically making models scarce. Probably another financial advisor that has always been advising post college but was never actually in the trenches driving and growing a business. Copy and paste strategy. Thx genius.

I’m not saying this applies to Omega, I’m not sitting on their board or hiding behind a chair in their meetings…but…volume is not always king/the top priority. Making a lot more profit per unit on less volume can be a very healthy direction for a business. Reduction of inventory costs, reduction in labor, reduction in freight, faster inventory turns, etc.

Investors are usually a one trick pony…it’s all about revenue growth, both organic and especially M&A, who cares about EBITA. If you’re not growing your dying..blah blah blah…live on cash flow, the growth arrow must always be going up and to the right to drive up stock, just get us to the sale so we can cash out. Who cares about net profit!

Too bad it’s impossible, no business will have continuous growth forever. Unfortunately this myopic view is prevalent and driven by investors. The average private company cares about profit above all else, it’s how the bills and employees get paid. I’m not saying they DO NOT care about revenue growth, but it’s balanced with the overall health of the business in all areas.

An analyst's primary job is to get people to buy stocks (or convince people to borrow them short so their institution, in this case Morgan, can make money on the stock while it's moving down) not provide accurate analysis. Such an easy thing to forget unfortunately

After procrastinating for several years on getting a Speedmaster, I can't bring myself to spend the new MSRP. No one to blame but myself!

Man, I hesitated and missed my chance to buy the speedmaster before the price increase...
I was on the fence about post-february prices, and the new post-july prices turned me off.
It also didn't help that my local boutiques don't give discounts for speedmasters.
I am in the stage of regret, however... maybe I should have gotten the watch.
Do yall think the price increases will significantly affect demand for Omega watches?
I understand from this thread that demand may or may not be affected... but are the new prices "too much"?

Buying from a reliable grey market seller here is always an option! 😉

So many ways to make money besides investing in a stock portfolio or taking a company public. Financial Advisors have only one true goal regarding building wealth and long term security…. For themselves at your expense. If you make some money great, if you lose it all too bad, I made my nut and moved on.

I doubt demand will be affected too much (just my opinion) as for whether the prices are too much the answer is absolutely yes but that goes for all "luxury" watches and they have been too much for a while now but people still buy them (including me).

In terms of your prevarication dilemma then my advise would always be buy now if you want it and can afford it. Start enjoying the watch and quit looking at future prices.
Similar to buy and selling stocks and shares. You will drive yourself mad with what could have been.

Kinda in the same boat, although i did purchase with a nice discount pre Feb increase, which I later returned, and now think I'd like one again but also know the current price & probably upcoming price rise will push me away,

Unless you're set on the new 3861 Moonwatch you guys can always find "neo-vintage" 90s-00's Speedys for like half the price. Or even used 3861s in the mid-high 5k range.

The 3861 hits the secondary market at decent prices if you’re willing to hunt around a bit. I picked one up a couple months ago from a guy who had it for a couple months and decided he wanted something else. Full kit including warranty cards from an AD in NYC. Ran me a bit under $5k shipped.

That’s a good score, congrats! Yea I was actually looking at my eBay watchlist this morning and there were a couple I watched that were actually low 5k.

The secret sauce on eBay is that every now and then they come up with 10% coupons on watch purchases, up to $500 off. I’m in NY, so that basically covers the sales tax. Buy the Speedy for $5k and you’re actually out of pocket $4,500 plus tax and shipping.

Here in Luxembourg the largest portion of the 50% immigrants are Portuguese. You can smell from 100 meters away through walls and windows when this fish is being cooked, smells disgusting but tastes amazing.
