What do you think or hope that Zenith will release this year?

I hope to see a GMT version of the blue dial Defy classic.

What do you got?

I hope that Zenith will be able to fit the Defy Lab technology into an ultra thin case (say 8-9mm), with an integrated bracelet. Something in the same realm as an AP15202 or Bulgari Octo Finnissimo... But with Zenith DNA a la the Espada Moonphase, etc.

That sounds awesome. They have something cooking. They posted this teaser today. I didn't think either of us will get our wishes... Lol!

That’s exciting. The teaser almost looks like it could be a re issue of a de luca. Which reminds me my “other wish” would be a reissue of an a277 WITH a domed crystal.

I think you might be right about the De Luca. There is a short teaser video looping on their website. We will find out tomorrow.

Off topic: how people can draw such smooth curvy lines by hand... 😀

Based on that bezel, this appears instead to be a chronomaster 2.0-like “striking tenth.” See bezel font to far right that appears to be the last few letters of “second” paired with the bezel’s apparently 1/10th second numerical scale.

This would also be consistent with the hand drawing’s bezel layout, shown further above.

If so, that’s may upset some of the 50 people who have the 50th Anniversary triple watch set. Maybe less so the skeletonized/titanium folks. But it’s long been in the marketing that the 3600 movement was zenith’s bet on its “future.”

I see that somebody parted out their 50th Ann set and sold the striking tenth alone at a last-reduced asking price $6,500 (after an initial $10k ask), with what I think was a $16K MSRP?

I like the idea of the technical feat of the 1/10th second bezel register. But have always felt that, at those tolerances, it’s my eyes and finger-push reflexes that are then limiting reagent to accuracy - such that the bezel/complication is rendered purely conceptual and practically speaking useless?

You are right. From what they posted today it is all but confirmed that it is the 386.

I bet we will all be drooling over it but I am honestly a little disappointed. Reissues are cool. I own the 40th anniversary edition and the 1957 Seamaster. I am happy with both. However, I was hoping for something forward looking. Something new and fresh. Anyway, it is only January. Plenty of time for more releases.

Really a rather beautiful looking watch (I love the lugs), with a really rather useless complication/bezel.

Usually when I allege a "useless complication" I obviously mean "useless to me." Here, I do not.

Site(s) variously down/glitchy... presumably while we wait the additional 1hr 13min for the official release/site update?

Bit underwhelming? The proportions look really odd, and the watch seems to be really thick.
