2019 has brought a number of opportunities to add to my core collection. I’ve been very fortunate to have been able to make these additions.
This lovely 145.022 69 had a nice step dial and handset, a totally ratty 220 bezel, and a movement number in the correct range for that 220 bezel. The entire watch and it’s parts I believed to be all original. Found it on TRF.
This watch then became the donor for that dial and handset, which was transferred to my fathers 145.022 69 DON -Replacing the superluminova parts installed in an earlier service. Next a service parts Japan Racing dial, handset and bezel were then installed to the donor watch. The result is first this:
And then my dad’s .022 69 DON below with the donor dial and handset fitted. This watch has been around the world - first with my dad and now with me. That the crusty, pock marked bezel oozes character, and finally now matches the aged dial and handset IMHO...
Picked up this gem from a long time OF member around mid year:
Then this from another OF member:
This from a dealer in France through Chrono 24
This one through a private individual also in France through Chrono 24
This one oddly enough not from a US based seller, but from yet another dealer in France, again through chrono 24.
And finally this first generation DeLuca directly through a dealer in Italy:
Onward into 2020...
Its called the Mosaic dial.
Amazing stuff, and glad I can contribute!
