Hi OF,

It's that time of the year again, where we reflect and look back on the watches we bought throughout the year. This year has to be one of my favorites, I managed to get some pieces I have been waiting for a while and focused more on the condition of each watch. I realized you really can't have em all, so I definitely have been more focused on my incomings. Some of my favorites are the 2998, Rindt, Royal Oak 4100, and also some lovely Constellations and Datejust.

Here's to a better 2020!

Great haul, beautiful watches. And as I’ve been looking for a nice one, dibs on the Movado!

Wow!! Great taste. Love the black dial pieces-DJ and the Connie. DJ imo are not getting the respect they deserve. Yet it is a very iconic Rolex piece. Not too big and not too small either. Unisex and goes well with formal and rugged get ups.

That SeaDweller is SWEET! Eventually I'm going to need to add one of those to my collection. But its going to be several years before I can do so.

Wow. Those are amasing. That day-date is perfect. I bought three in 2019 (I think).

First up was a 116610LV for the wife. So technically not mine (or so she thinks)

Second was my Datejust. Absolutely love this watch. Probably my all time fav

And third up was the Seiko “Arnie” re-issue

But the thing I am most excited about right now is the JB from Forstnerbands on my Speedy. Damn it is cool 😎

Thanks buddy! Well noted!

Forgot that crazy soleil dial @sliceoftime_ ? 😲

🥰
Of course not! That was in 2018 though. 😝

I have to agree, it just wears so comfortable and the vast variety of dials makes it a joy to hunt and collect as well.

That 2998 is just 😎😎😎
Thank you!

I purchased one watch in 2019...a birth year 105.003-64 Echo Whiskey which I purchased from OF member @Darlinboy. 👍

First pic below...Echo Whiskey pickup day [14MAY19] at the downtown Hooters in STL with @Darlinboy as the telephone camera operator dude...

A couple of subsequent file pics...

2019 has brought a number of opportunities to add to my core collection. I’ve been very fortunate to have been able to make these additions.

This lovely 145.022 69 had a nice step dial and handset, a totally ratty 220 bezel, and a movement number in the correct range for that 220 bezel. The entire watch and it’s parts I believed to be all original. Found it on TRF.
This watch then became the donor for that dial and handset, which was transferred to my fathers 145.022 69 DON -Replacing the superluminova parts installed in an earlier service. Next a service parts Japan Racing dial, handset and bezel were then installed to the donor watch. The result is first this:

And then my dad’s .022 69 DON below with the donor dial and handset fitted. This watch has been around the world - first with my dad and now with me. That the crusty, pock marked bezel oozes character, and finally now matches the aged dial and handset IMHO...

Picked up this gem from a long time OF member around mid year:

Then this from another OF member:

This from a dealer in France through Chrono 24

This one through a private individual also in France through Chrono 24

This one oddly enough not from a US based seller, but from yet another dealer in France, again through chrono 24.

And finally this first generation DeLuca directly through a dealer in Italy:

Onward into 2020...

Really nice watches TS!

What is the blue dial on the Datejust called? Looks stunning!
