Ref. 2639 came in yesterday.

Thought it was a different reference, was surprised to see a 2639 show up. Will move this one on in a week or so, I guess.

Still very nice piece, patina has given it a wood grain look.

I was lucky to have found these two ref 165007s, both for under 500, in gold and silver, in two separate buys! Like twins that were waiting to be reunited or something.

Service was both around 500, oh well...so not really for under 500, but worth the work IMO.
Why the gold is ahead of the silver I don't know 😵‍💫 service much?
Each given to my sister and my mother. Trying to show them the way of vintage Omega 😎

Impulse buy after a few drinks because I felt the auction was going too low. I threw in a bid for $455 and won by the skin of my teeth; I honestly did not expect to win. Having sobered up, at least I can say that I could have done worse. It has some issues, but it's still appealing IMO. Ref 2348 with cal 30T2SC from the mid-1940s in an apparently unpolished 35mm SS case.

Latest acquisition. Not a classic but a nice addition to the collection .Can’t believe how quick it arrived only bought it on Sunday! 1975 OM Genève manual wind, not original strap but can’t have everything but for the price, less then £200 with recorded delivery, can’t really complain at all.

I picked this up pretty cheap, was delivered today, but unfortunately the movement looks like there is corrosion 🙁

I'll see if a battery change does anything, otherwise I'll be on the look out for a 1620 module. Unless some needs parts?

Hey, I got one for this thread at long last! Bought for just £50. The repair and service bill brought it to a fraction under the $500 cut off:

It's another in my collection of "first iterations" (my own little thing I came up with). Basically, watches that are a -1 or a .001 reference. It's also the only chronometer grade movement currently in the collection.

My first Omega, though it bears the jeweler's name on the dial, "Feldenheimer". Based upon the importer's mark on the 23.4SC movement, the watch appears to be circa 1936....14K GF case...due to arrive here in New Jersey from Hawaii, $102.50 delivered. The seller says it runs. Looking forward to restoring it. Suggestions for a new band welcomed.

I’d try an antique red/brown leather
Thanks for the suggestion, I was thinking along the same lines. I will post a photo when I get it cleaned up and restrapped.

Or you could try something like this leather bracket type probably more in keeping with period etc

I currently have something similar, though I have been looking for a more attractive alternative such as the one in your photo.
