I have the chance to buy these 2 omega's. I am relatively new to this hobby and was wondering if some of you could help me identify if these watches are real and maybe give me an estimated price.
Thanks

I believe based on a recent purchase of a C-shape that anything between 700. - 900.€ would be a decent price ..
Good luck !

Avoid the 168.029 - while the 18k white gold fluted bezel and the structured linen dial are generally nice features, this one shows what might be water damage to the dial. Right half is discolored, which will not clean up. Indices also show degradation from that, and there’s corrosion in the movement (regulator, screws of the case clamps). Not sure if the box has anything to do with this model, but that’s only a side not really. Seller fails to mention any of the flaws in the description, not the guy I’d wanna buy from.

The first one looks much better, but there are more pictures needed. From the sides and the inside, most of all. A similar (or even identical) configuration was offered here a few days ago as serviced for 700€ shipped.

Generally, these are relatively common refs, so if you put “Omega 168.029” (or any other ref of interest) in the eBay search and limit it to “sold articles” you’ll find what they’ve sold for in the last few month. Your best tool to find prices - maybe combined with the forum search here.

Found the first one, the 168.017. Looks very good, sharp case. No movement pictures - but the asking price of 1200€ is way of in my book. It’s not serviced, so 800€ maybe - but this is not a watch that’s in the quadruple digits. On the hunt, it’s often time or money that needs to be invested and I wouldn’t judge people for paying a premium to have the piece they want right away. How hefty a premium you are prepared to spend is your decision.

Not surprising though: C24 prices are significantly more expensive compared to open eBay auctions (or the classifieds here, at least more often than not).

The first one (168.017) looks OK to me - correct crown and the hands match the hour indices. Case looks good as does the bracelet with correct 518 end links. The dial script (from what I can tell from these pics) looks correct.
The plexiglass has a cyclops which is unusual for this reference - but in other threads here on OF its been mentioned they do occur.
Can you get a shot of the movement and caseback? It should have a 561 or 564 movement.

This is not advice, but interestingly, I found myself drawn more to the second watch, but water damage is a no-no
