Hi,

I'm relatively new to vintage watches and thinking of buying my first Omega Constellation. I've been reading through this forum for a few weeks and trying to learn how to fish, but would love a second opinion on this ref. 14381 with serial number 1803XXXX (~1961).

The lugs/bezel look sharp and mostly unpolished to me. From my research, the text on the dial also looks correct for this reference and I think the dial and cross hair are original, but not completely sure.

Do you think there's anything I should be concerned about on this watch? The 3 o'clock lug looks a little crooked maybe, but I'm not sure if that's the camera angle. Would around $1500 be a reasonable price for this non-dog leg version?

Thanks

The watch looks correct. I like it, the dial is very nice indeed and the case looks pretty good. A case back picture would be nice....screw back cases are sometimes ruined by idiot's opening attempts. It's very dirty on the outside so I'd assume a service will be needed in the short term. The bracelet is I think generic, so worthless really.

TBH I don't find the price outlandish for this one.

What he said ^

I like it too.
It has a particularly clean dial.
The bezel and lugs look really good.

Put it on a simple brown leather strap and you may find that you never look at a dogleg again…..

Assuming the condition of the back of the watch matches the front, I think $1500 / £1150 / €1300 is a pretty good price for this watch.

I will add one caveat, ask for pictures in natural sunlight with no photoshop or filtering.
Seems a bit manipulated

Thanks everyone! Here's a picture of the case back but it's a little hard to see. I'll see if I can get more photos.

Crown looks original too. Medallion looks ok at angle.
Nice one!

I can't tell if the "R" in chronometer is a scratch on the dial or a scratch on the crystal (more likely).

The movement is filthy as others stated. The train wheel bridge seems to have some loss of plating, so additional photos would help.
