·How do you describe an icon?! The Rolex Submariner certainly is that. While not the first dive watch, it's become the most renowned. An icon. A grail. Now just as at home on the wrist while diving or at the office.
VERY happy to offer up a really nice example of the classic date sub, the reference 16610 from 1996 with a beautiful tritium dial and bezel!
REF: 16610
SERIAL: T93XXXX
DATE: 1996
DIAL: Hard to say much about this classic dial that hasn't already been said for decades! From that perfect black to that Mercedes hour hand… and seen here with sweet light cream-color aged tritium lume. All original, dial and hands light up perfectly and evenly under UV and all falls off at the same time (excuse any glare/reflections, the sapphire crystal is clean - all photos taken in direct light with a strong macro lens.)
CASE: Crisp and clean 40mm case with great original lines, nice brushing on the thick lugs, and what you always want to see on these - those beautiful chamfers! Wear throughout, as you would expect for a nearly 30 year old watch, mostly seen on the polished sides, which would clean up nicely with a light polish, but I always opt to leave untouched. A few light marks/scratches on the bezel as well, again as expected, but so nice to find the original tritium pip as these were often swapped for modern inserts. All in presents beautifully.
CRYSTAL: Sapphire crystal in great shape, showing off that stunning dial perfectly.
MOVEMENT: Under the hood is equally iconic, the Rolex cal 3135 automatic movement. It’s a beast. A workhorse. And this one has been well taken care of, very clean. Service history is unknown, but in my experience keeping time within 9 seconds a day.
BRACELET: Comes on its original, correctly date stamped 93150 Rolex oyster bracelet (Z for 1997, which is often the case as bracelets were added after the watch was produced) with correct 501B end links. 11 links total, so fits up to about 7.25 inches. Also has light wear throughout, but also presents beautifully.
ACCESSORIES: Watch only, as pictured.
PRICE: A very fair and firm $7995 which will include 2 day fully insured shipping through FedEx anywhere in the US. Face-to-face deals in the Los Angeles area are always welcome, with a small discount offered.
PAYMENT: Via Zelle, Venmo Friends & Family, Wise, or Wire.
RETURNS: No returns unless misrepresented, and it won't be. I've been a passionate collector for decades and I treat the buyers the way I want to be treated when I'm the buyer. Have lots of feed back here and elsewhere to show that.
Thanks for checking out this sweet tritium Sub! And as always, thanks to OF for the space!
