From the boardroom to exactly what it was built for, climbing mountains, the Rolex Explorer 1 actually does do it all! I don't push one watch collections, nor do I follow it myself… but this could really be that. And this one's the last of the tritium dials, a reference 14270 from 1997 that's got some beautiful, even cream lume going on - oh, and it comes as a box and papers set! REF: 14270 SERIAL: U331XXX DATE: 1997 DIAL: That SWEET 3-6-9 dial! And this is a stunning example with the that even creamy tritium lume across the hands and dial. All around, as you can see even in macro, very clean including the sapphire crystal. CASE: Classic 36mm case with great original lines and nice brushing on the thick lugs. Tiny bits of wear here and there, mostly seen on the smooth bezel and sides, as you'd expect, but I think hard pressed to finder a cleaner 27 year old example that even includes the original case back sticker! MOVEMENT: Under the hood is the equally iconic Rolex cal 3000 automatic movement. Service history is unknown, but hand winding and setting is like butter, and timegrapher numbers are incredible at 6 seconds a day with an amplitude of 302! BRACELET: Comes on its original, correctly date stamped 78790 Rolex oyster bracelet with 558 B end links. 12 links so will fit up to app. 7.5 inches. Very light wear throughout, as expected, but all in looks great. ACCESSORIES: This is definitely how you want to find 'em! Comes with outer Rolex box, inner Rolex box, original Rolex papers, 2 Rolex booklets and dealer calendar card, even the Rolex paperwork holder - pretty awesome to find one this complete!
