Hi guys, so my 1994 Omega Seamaster Professional 300m 2562.80 is acting strange. It was running fine for a very long time, however for the past two weeks it has been losing time. I checked it yesterday and it was running accurately, overnight it lost ten minutes. It then ran fine all day today. I changed the battery two days ago, but I am getting the feeling the module is on the way out.

Also, the serial is 54448760, is that 1993 or 1994?

Thanks

Well it came back from Omega running beautifully! One question, the serial starts with 544***** Is that 1993? Are actual Golden Eye Bonds worth a bit more than a release from later years? Also, I was hoping Omega would replace the bezel insert but it was returned with the original one. I did mention I would like this done, with the original obviously being returned to me also.

Call me fussy but Im sending it back. The bezel is way out of alignment. Its a full click either side of 12, which is so sloppy.

Here are the before and after pictures.

These kind of things drive me nuts. Could get used to misaligned bezel in cheap seiko, but not in watch like this, and not right after it's been serviced. :/

Was it Omega that removed the insert and put it back 15 degrees out of its correct position in the bezel?
I smell bullshit.

Some of the goodies I got back. New handset installed, which is clearly visible in the before and after pictures.

Few things...

That bezel insert is... ::facepalm1::

So they have removed what I assume are the tritium hands, so you may want to take those out of the bag and store them in a way that they won't get damaged, as they go with your tritium dial.

The serial number you gave in the first post is for a:

Serial number: 54448760
Article ref: 72021100

That is a steel and yellow gold DeVille with a square case, so hopefully the serial number you gave is a typo.

Cheers, Al

Yeah the insert was surprising to say the least. Thanks for the tips on the hands I will do that. I did it with the chrono I had serviced.

The serial is 54444710 it was hard to read until the case was cleaned up

Here is their response regarding the bezel insert:

"On the topic of the bezel insert, they are not replaced with a standard full service and the insert is not sold separately to the bezel itself.
With that being said, a new bezel can be purchased for $380.00 incl. GST."

What are you talking about?
I'm talking about the insert on your watch, which in your before pic is perfectly lined up with the scallops on the bezel.
The after pic shows the insert in a totally different position.
Now I find it impossible to believe that any Omega service centre, after being asked by yourself to change the insert, would just remove the insert and refit it so badly. They just wouldn't do that, which is why I called bullshit.
Oh and by the way, please don't PM me again in the middle of the night demanding an answer to your dumb question.

Yeah well they did it, the pictures speak for themselves. I have the paperwork to prove this was with Omega and returned only yesterday.

Oh and hey if you post retarded comments in peoples threads, expect to be asked to explain yourself.

I have to say the contrast between your comments and Archers is amazing. Why dont you read a few of his helpful and contructive posts/comments. You may learn a thing or two.

I wish I'd seen your post before you edited it. I miss the banter on ΩF.

I need to put my SMPc in with Omega as nobody else in this godforsaken country seems to be able to do Coaxials. That bezel alignment makes me a bit concerned. Hopefully Sydney is a bit better than down there in Australian Mexico.

Guess where Sydney OB sends your Omega.
