I just purchased a 1977 Omega Seamaster 166.0203, I took it apart to start my project and when I pushed on the crystal from behind it just popped off with no resistance. I'm trying to put it back together or at least understand what tools I need to connect the crystal/bezel back to the case.

I can't find any information on this model and how to put it back together. I did find one entry on this forum about the 166.0203 and the bezel, one user said you reattach it through pressure, like a crystal press? But the way this Seamaster is designed it almost seems like glue was used because its a flat edge against another flat edge. There was an dried yellow gunk on the case and bezel that I cleaned off.

1. Did they use glue in 1977?
2. What am I missing how do I attach the crystal/bezel back to the case?
3. Any information will be helpful, I'm stumped on this one.

Replacement Crystal (The replacement crystal looks the same with attached bezel as what I have) - https://perrinwatchparts.com/en-us/...stals-cy-om063pz5208-case-ref-1660231-1980029

Note: Its genuine omega crystal, I can see omega logo underneath the correct lighting.

If there was glue on your watch then someone glued it, it's not supposed to have glue on either the bezel or crystal.

I suspect either the case or bezel (or both) are damaged and they bodged it together with glue. I'm not intimately familiar with this specific reference but the bezel should firmly snap onto the case.

The crystal for this case is 063PZ5200. Dimensions are D31.62 H3.7

The 063PZ5208 is D30.62 H4, so the one you have listed in not the correct replacement, and it's 1 mm smaller in diameter.

The crystal is a press fit, so if it's loose then it could be the wrong crystal, or something is wrong with the case.
