Having it re-lumed would likely cost a similar amount to sourcing a correct dial, with intact lume.
Thanks for your reply. Do you know the approx cost of either please? Do you mean a dial from the period rather than a service dial? Also, I wouldn’t know which style of dial to get between long “S” and short “S”. Any thoughts on this?

For your production date I’d prefer a short S. It also looks nicer to me. It’s a short run dial though. Only -74 and -76.

note I’m the one that did the research into this and at this time either dial is considered correct.

Thanks. So I could keep the dial I have and it would still be considered correct? Therefore, I can choose to have lume applied to it or get a replacement dial from the same year (short or long “S”)?

Sorry for all the questions but I just want to get the watch right at the next service and then it’s done for the rest of my life (apart from future services).

Finding a dial will not be easy. At this time either dial is considered correct.

I’d leave it alone personally and not do a relume... but that time period generally stayed very light colored with just a hint of green. Of course you can choose to relume it in a more traditional yellowish faux lume.

Okay, good that I don’t have to look and pay for a new dial. If I was going to get the lume done it would have to match in with the lume on the hands otherwise it would look wrong. I know somebody on OF did this but not sure the watch repair shop could or would. Thanks for your help with this. Much appreciated.

I’d redo both at the same time since you already have hand lume damage
