Hello all,

I have the opportunity to buy this 1976 Omega Constellation gold filled watch. Serial number 40386716. Case reference 3960851.1/1960077.1.

I've never see ln this specific model before and searches are proving useless.

Has anyone seen this model before and have any idea of what price range I should be aiming for to purchase?

See pictures. Any comments welcome.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes that is very similar. I could probably get the one in my original post for around 500usd.

I have noticed that the crown does not have the omega logo on it. Could this be a replacement or worn down? See image.

The crown is a feature of this watch.
If you don't know what you're buying you should step back and do a bit more research.

I get why the seller felt the need to put something there, but it's stupid not putting a plastic wrapper piece instead, you can already see the particles from paper on the movement

Would you say 500usd is a fair price?

It is a fair price if you like the model, it’s just that there are so many other models in that range, and mechanicals are more easily fixable

Gold-filled quartz watch, wouldn't pay anywhere near $500, even if it is an Omega.

Yeah I think it’s a watch you need to understand and have a desire for. Personally if I was offered it for 300 I wouldn’t buy it.

Thanks everyone. This has given me a better perspective. I'm going to spend more time researching as I feel I was being impulsive.
