You can polish it off from the outside if you try hard enough and use machinery.

The technical term for that is a "hole"...

Is there anything stopping you from polishing the inside of the crystal if you wanted to?

😜

Well I guess you would have to polish through the caseback, movement and dial first but in theory no. Worth a try to see if it works I reckon.

I guess not many people get scratches on the inside of the crystal ……. but there will be a few no doubt.

It happens, but not a lot.

In my opinion the step dial creates a small visual enhancement, thus creating an illusion of a bigger watch when it has “more going on” and for the eyes to catch more details. Just my thoughts though...

Well, I believe I can answer the OP's question. Put a ruler to the screen in the first post and it's perfectly clear that the bezel on the left is 85mm across, whilst the one on the right is 72mm across.

I really can't think how everybody else missed that.

Lol…you realized that the watch on the right is more in background? You know Perspective rules?
That's why it's smaller on the picture.

Idk what you're talking about Mr Trash, I'm getting the same readings with my calipers here. 😉

No, sorry, I'm afraid I live in the 13th century and it hasn't been invented yet.

The absurdity in this post is that 85mm is about the size of a credit card. So you're saying that the bezel is as thick as a credit card on your screen. Are you using a movie theater for a computer monitor? 😁😁

Time for me to buy a digital ruler, but here is the best I could do with an old school kid’s ruler- Leather strap watch is the 1969..

I've got one of those olde worlde things we primitive folks hereabouts call a PC. Yup, the one on the left is the same size as a credit card on my screen. You did know I meant "from one side of the bezel to the other"....? 😉

Yes, I’ve fallen off and into the deep end on this one. WIS obsession has taken over.

I missed an opportunity last year to pickup a 1965 speedmaster with the 321 movement- kicking myself today.... Warning, I may pick up a 145.012 at some point- the hunt is on....
