1969 Grey Dial Omega Constellation, Is It Authentic/Frankenwatch?

Hey! This is my first Omega watch I have acquired and I am new to this forum. The watch I have is a reference 168.027 Omega Constellation Grey Dial with a White Gold Bezel from 1969. I love the look of this watch and have worn it almost every day since owning it for about 2 weeks. I was curious to think what everyone on here would think of the watch and if it is authentic or a Frankenwatch. Also, the watch had run very well and kept great time until the date change between the 11th and 12th of the month and then between the 12th and 13th when it decided to just stop working at around 9:00pm on both days while running well on my wrist for the whole day beforehand. I decided to adjust the time to feel the date change and it would work well except for between around 10:30 pm and 3 am between a few dates. Wondering what may have caused this discrepancy and also just wanting to get general feedback on the watch and it鈥檚 authenticity. I will include pictures of the watch below and it鈥檚 original brick bracelet (as it is currently on a very nice hodinkee leather strap). Thank you!

I can't help you with the mechanical issues, but the watch is fine cosmetically - one of the best variations of this reference, IMO 馃榾

Welcome to OF!

Lovely dial!

Service highly recommended, date issue should be easily sorted then.

Any recommendations on getting service? Direct from Omega or a local specialist or is there another option?

Well I would definitely recommend to use a watchmaker with experience in vintage watches instead of sending to Omega.

And welcome to the forum @Sam_C . Great looking watch

Find a local watchmaker who knows this reference and who can get parts.

It's a lovely watch, very attractive and in good cosmetic condition. Wear it with pride.

Welcome, Sam! This very watch was reviewed on OF a couple of years ago: it was well received then, and it's just as super now. (Although, if you do feel there are some issues, I will very happily take it away for you 馃槈). I hope it gives you a lot of enjoyment!

these are great. I鈥檇 keep it on leather and I think brown ostrich looks amazing on these.
