Hello there! I'm considering buying a vintage piece for my wife, I found a working 21mm solid gold sector watch ref 2974-61 with a cal 245. I tried to find others like that one online and on the omega site but I couldn't find exactly the same one. Can you guys help identifying it? Is it authentic? Is it a frankenwatch? The seller is asking for $400, is it worth it? Thank you very much!
I like that. I've not seen that before but it looks straight. It looks like a nice thing. Here is one listed by a commercial seller, looks the same: https://en.omega-vintage.hu/product/omega-geneve-bk-2974-2-cal245-1960
Opinions may vary (as they do on this MB), but my opinion is that the watch authentic, appears to be in nice condition, and very much worth the asking price. Now, let us see what others say.
Just curious, what is that printed under the 6 index? Even taking into account distortion by the crystal it doesn’t look like “Swiss made”.
It does to me. You can only see the top half. I've just noticed that the side opposite the crown looks to have some marks from a case knife slipping but it wouldn't put me off since gold is so easy to polish if you so desire.
Very likely original, as the Geneve signature looks good. However – and I'm nitpicking – it's really just a cross-hair dial, and not typically thought of as a "sector" dial.
That's great! Thank you! Thank you! ☺️ It says "Swiss Made" , I forgot to add another photo: Thanks! ☺️ Thanks! Didn't know that ☺️
I need that watch but in stainless for my wife she has a rose gold watch but mentioned that she doesn’t like wearing it with her white gold wedding band.
think I can get a second round of wedding gifts that way too? Oh and I’ll need a new watch for myself for the special occasion. This is a solid plan, though much more expensive lol
