Hi OF!

I have for sale today a beautiful transitional Speedy from ‘68. Hesitant to let this one go but as I just received a “grail” something has to go. I will be posting a couple others as well.

Beautiful step dial with lume intact, there are a couple of markers where some has been lost. Creamy hands and markers that look great in direct sunlight. Applied metal logo was a must for me!

Case is strong, likely polished in the past but not in my possession. DON bezel is in excellent shape with a slight blue/grey hue in direct light.

Comes on 1039 bracelet with 516 endlinks. Moderate stretch but another piece of this watch that was important to me.

Winds smooth, chronograph starts, stops, resets as intended. It has not been serviced in my possession and the 12hr counter does not advance so service is recommended. S/N is 26555676, placing this early in the Transitional reference per William’s chart.

All in all, not a perfect example but checks all the vintage Speedy boxes for me.

Priced at $8,750 USD now $8,250 and looking for CONUS sale only at this time. Price will include shipping which we can discuss preferred method. Payment by wire preferred or PP but buyer will be responsible for any fees. No returns, so please pay close attention to pictures.

Feel free to ask any questions or request additional pictures/video. DM is best.

Thanks to this wonderful community, hoping to keep this one within the OF family!

Cheers,
Jim

It's got the unique to early 145.022-68 case, also. Plus the 1039 bracelet. Not too many nicer bezels.

Surprises me that it's still here, especially when there have been several threads asking about poor quality 145.022s. Right here in our own backyard is a great watch. One of my favorite references and best value vintage speedy, imho.

GLWTS.

Price reduced to $8,250, shipping with your label from Atlanta,GA. Not interested in trades as only reason for sale is to offset several recent incomings.

I’m sorry I started a s…storm just by enquiring about a movement pic, which I believe is important in the sale of such a gorgeous watch….

No Storm. I'd never, ever buy any watch without a Mvmt. Picture. It tells you more than the serial. The state of the heads of the screws . Possible metal pitting inside the middle case . And more....

I’ve been approached about selling the bracelet separately. I would prefer to include it in the sale but not opposed to splitting the pair. For anyone on the fence, please reach out to discuss as I’d like to get back to the interested party by end of week. Thanks all!

My inconsequential reply...

don't sell the bracelet separately and break up the family!

Also, I would love to purchase this from you but my wife would slowly and methodically remove my flesh after all the watches I purchased last year.

This is why you just buy it now, then you have incentive to sell others from your collection…to avoid said filleting.

Forget it. Big mistake. Keep it together. If someone must have the bracelet then they can buy the watch from you and sell the head off themselves.

I would need to have the NG produce three offspring immediately and then ship all four back to have that problem solved.

I’d be patient and not split the paring.

Well …. only if THAT bracelet was sold with THAT watch way back when!! Otherwise why be we’d to it. Seller could just make sure to get a good price for the bracelet+end links. Holdouts should’ve jumped already!!

But thx for the warning…err…update, @DRjre086

Wow, what a beautiful example.

I can vouch for the seller as well… a fine lad and good personal friend.

I bet it goes very soon to one very lucky buyer!
