Ask him if he bought it with this strange hour hand too? 😉

There are several inconsistencies, like the hands, the scew crown and maybe the dial...

I thought the transition between the naiad crown and screw down crown begun around 1967-1969?

I have been speaking with the seller a bit I would guess the crown was changed during a service.

Me-

You are the first owner of this watch?

The back is engraved with AHG?

Have you had it serviced while you owned it? Looks like the crown may have been changed at some point.

Did you typically wear it on a fabric/nato strap? Just going from the wear to the caseback.

"Yes I have had the watch from new,it was bought from John Crouch Jewellers, Cardiff in 1967.

It is engraved with my initials as I wouldn't leave it lying around some of the sites I've been on.

It's been serviced approximately 5 or 6 times by either Crouch the Goldsmith or Watches of Switzerland in Cardiff, I don't know if anything was changed.

Yes, I took the original Omega strap off as it used to damage the cuffs on the old dry suits. I always wore a fabric strap and after 54 years the original strap is long gone, I'm afraid."

I also asked about the lug bars and if they were fixed

"As far as I can tell, they're fixed i can't get any movement on them."

I would suspect just shoulder less.

Wow, thanks very much for this, maybe the movement was swapped rather than serviced?

Seller has just replied to my query about the movement:
Hi,

Sorry, there is no paperwork. To my knowledge the movement never been replaced.

Thanks

I can't see pinholes though pictures aren't very good. Aren't pinholes obligate for BT?

Some say so, some say other. Anyway. This guy has already enough red flags for me to skip it...

He seems a genuine fella.. but I reckon he has no idea what’s been done to his watch over the years. He’s got another Omega listed as well with his initials on it.

Certainly seen a polish as well. Would want to see the dial outside of the glass for sure...

I would give this a miss and look elsewhere for a good example.

I doubt a redial, but: does he mention/ can you see the T SWISS MADE T on the dial? I add a picture of mine.

The "gap" of the serial number is huge, but could exist probably: 22.XXX.XXX are possible and known.
Without a loupe: always difficult. I would pay € 4000 maximum.

Don't see that T Swiss Made T on this one... but that isn't saying much

On mine its only the top 1/4 of the printing that's visible.

I guess while we are at it we may as well see all the photos from the listing.
